Notre Dame is a fit in the Big 12. Participation in the weakly perceived Big East has hurt the program for years. The Big East is now weaker with the loss of Pitt and WVU.
Big 12 affiliation would improve recruiting in Texas and further improve the now stabilized Big 12 which already has widely accepted status as the #2 conference (certainly in football and #3 in Basketball).
Along with friendly power Texas, The OU,UT,ND Tv contracts would bypass the BIG or SEC but remain a league that the Irish could compete favorably.
ND could remain Indy in football and perhaps join the 12 in a few years.
The ACC is also a good fit but ND would be lost in a 16 team league. BIG association is a poor choice. The league is hurting and three teams from the same state would be unacceptable.
ND could keep NBC, much as the Horns keep The Longhorn Network.
The Irish played their best with Texas talent and future Thanksgiving matchups with Texas would be huge.
