Man, there's a LOT of ifs there. The one thing that seems certain is A&M going to the SEC. There's pretty much no way that isn't a done deal by the end of September. I think everyone is making this assumption that its the first domino - but if the Big Texas conference is content with what they have, it may just not do anything. The Longhorns have all the benefits of independence AND conference alignment. Its perfect for them.

ND's position seems to be that if conference membership is some sort of perverse prerequisite to NCAA membership in a 'superconference' world (which I'm not sold that it is), then they'll pretty much have their choice of PAC, Big Texas, B1G or Big East/ACC survivor, which is probably true. So why make a preemptive move - wait until it shakes out and see what 15 team conference looks the best...

Negative. All the SEC said was that they weren't voting about membership on that particular day. Lots of legal wrangling needs to be done, but its all pretty well set, if you read between the lines. Unless Texas changes its mind and wants A&M to stay after all...

A&M was denied by the SEC because A&M was not free to discuss moving. This was the SECs waiver of "Please don't sue us, come back when you are unattached".

Why are you even reading an article from somewhere called the "Barking Carnival"????? This is just as bad as believing whats scribbled down from the Bleacher Report. This is non news to me but thanks for sharing I guess. Ya could have put it in the other 50 threads that are titled "ND to Big 12" LOL

Plus, a 3rd grader obviously wrote that with all the mistakes that are in there.
