Great Weis interview

Someone on NDNation posted an interview with Weis and Joe and Sid (WFAN radio, here in NYC). It's an excellent interview, Weis had some interesting comments about Urban. Joe and Sid are great, i listen to them almost everyday.

OUT-F**KING-STANDING! You can tell that he feels the Urban used ND as a bargaining tool and nothing more. And he's insulted by that. If you haven't figured it out this guy loves Notre Dame, he has a passion and respect for this school. Holtz had the same passion and respect. Davie and Willingham didn't.

Weis' passion and respect will be as important as his football knowledge in turning this program around

Ditto Guff. Weis is truly where he wants to be. So is his staff. ND now has a staff that wants to be there. Simple as that.

I have no problem with Urban Meyer going to Florida, but he deliberately wasted White's time by having him fly out to Utah for an interview knowing he was already going to Gainesville. It was a dog and pony show by Urban, using ND as a bargaining chip with UF.

Taking the Florida job over ND did not bother me. His lying to the ND administration certainly did.

I am recalling these quotes from my memory. One is from Weis' press-conference when he was announced as the new head-coach, the other is from when Bob Davie told the world he advised Meyer to head to Florida:

Great Interview. The more I hear CW talk the better I like him. This guy is a coach from the old school format and he just wants to get it done.

I haven't been this excited about ND Football in a long time.

Saw this quote get called out on another board:

"It's not NFL style," new UF coach Urban Meyer said. "It's old school. This is college football."

I am also getting the impression that Meyer and Weis don't like each other.

Weis sounds like a very intelligent man, and I don't expect him to screw around a lot. He seems to be a to-the-point kind of guy, and I like that about him.
