I've got a pretty comfortable handle on the first three and plenty to show/experience.

I'm an older poster and the very first cars I loved were the '68-70 GTO's... followed closely by the same year Chevelles. About ten years ago, my wife (God bless her) gave me the green light to buy the car of my dreams. I was stoked and set out to buy the ultimate GTO Judge. Imagine my shock to find out that I was going to have to "pony up" about $60K for a decent representation.

A few years ago, I conceded... I could buy a great car (not my dream car) for a bit more and I wouldn't have to worry about parts, service, etc.

My choices came down to Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Nissan. I think I purchased the best value car available and every time I hop in the vehicle I have a smile on my face.

Still, I find myself longing for classic muscle. Have any of you gone through similar feelings?

Love guitars, although I have discovered I can't play and have no rhythm, but Paul Reed Smith builds my favorites. Just great guitars. I currently own too many (according to my wife), lots of Fenders, Gibsons, PRS and a Canadian made Godin. After a tough day at the office there is nothing more relaxing than making noise.

Favorite guns? I have a lot. Probably nothing better than an "out of the box" Sako. Very accurate, high quality and adjustable triggers.

What tickles your fancy?

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Should have bought the muscle car. It appreciates while all the others drop 20% when you drive away lol.

Service on old cars is a breeze. Parts are for the most part easy to come by. You'll pay a lot less for a set of tires for a GTO than a MB or BMW! Changing plugs and wires on a GTO is an easy Youtube 45 minute exercise. The same for a BMW will dent your wallet.

New is nice though. Loved my X5 until it was out of warranty.

That's the thing YJ... I want to drive that sucker. Not a humble brag... just reality... I ended up buying a brand new Audi S8 Plus. 605 HP, every available option and I could not be happier... well maybe. I know I'm going to take a big loss when I trade it in a few years but honestly, I don't care. I was looking at a mint '68 GTO Judge (PHS confirmed) and all I thought was I need a lot of spare parts and I don't want to do long trips for fear of compromising the paint, lights, etc.

In the Audi, I've got everything. The upgraded B&O stereo, bigger HP engine, carbon fiber everything, DVD's, twin turbo... it virtually drives itself... and I hate that! And I love that! Advertised 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. It's right there. On two occasions, I have had it so fast that I was actually scared.

I love the old GTO's and Chevelles, but I don't want a "tribute", I want the real thing. In 1979 a friend and I bought an original swamp green GTO Judge for $2,500. I was so excited. A few days later we sold it for $4,000. I was a student at the time so the money was very welcome. I look back 39 years later and hate myself.

I've never driven a Corvette, but a great friend of mine has worked in very high positions for GMC/Chevrolet in Toronto and Detroit. He tells me that there is no better value car than the Vette. He owns a couple Porsche 911's and sticks by his statement.

I love my Audi but I think I will pick up another car for 2019. Would love some classic muscle, but my head tells me that there are better choices overall... particularly because of the high prices driven by the Jackson Barrett auctions.

Would love additional input and thoughts from the board. Some great thinkers here!

Cheers and Go Irish!!

I'm in a space now were I lease premium, and buy fun. I even "made money" off the last lease (a dealer bought my BMW lease 2 months before the scheduled return from $5+K) and applied it to the last new JK I bought. I don't want to ever own a premium out of warranty.

I get you on the wanting to drive it..... I wouldn't be too worried about driving a classic far though. If it's maintained/restored, there's not a lot to go wrong. Not having all the electric and computer crap minimizes failure points. As long as you have basic gauges, it's all good.

I have several guns (maybe 40) some new some old. Some worth 150.00 some 3500.00. I have been buying guns since I was 16 years old. Everytime I buy one I think "I can always sell it" and make some money. that may he true but so far I still own every gun I have bought. So I'm starting to think I have 50k dollars worth of guns that I dint use and will never get 1 dollar out of. I have 3 guns that I use almost daily, the others never get touched. But I still really want an ed brown 7mm08.

Cars...I have a 94 Chevy Silverado short bed. Bought it when I was 17. Have spent a fortune on it. I pull it in the shop every third winter or so and drop a few thousand in it and then quit. Currently sits in garage not running(put heads, cam new carb ect on winter 2016) fuel pump was bad and I just quit. Ginna guess I have close to 30k in it. Truck would not bring 5k .....
Would love to have older boss 302 mustang.

No guitars would like to be able to play piano though. My best friend can play out of this world. Can play almost any song just from hearing it. Freaking girls melt everytime he does it. And he is 5 foot 8 275.
