Fact: Losing close games suck. Picking up a first down there, breaking up a pass here, and we're 3-0. The breaks haven't gone our way. Obviously we haven't played as well as I would have liked, but the way some of you guys are acting is hilarious. Coming into this season, I made it a point to have no expectations. We've suffered through 3 bad coaches. It's going to take a while to be a great team again. Kelly can't sh*t out a dynasty and p*ss championships. We've got a very young team out there right now, and these kind of games aren't bad for them. It's heartbreaking, but we are only a fourth of the way through the season.
Yes the schedule is tough, but I like to think we are a tough team. I'm ready to see Stanford, Boston College, Utah, Pitt, and USC get f*cked up courtesy of Manti Te'o, Carlo Calabrese, and company.
The passing game has been going pretty well when looking at the circumstances. Both of our tackles are new starters. Quarterback is a new starter. Two of the three wide receivers are new starters. One is a freshman and the other is a converted running back. They are only going to get better as the season goes on.
I am a pessimist. It's who I am, but I can't help but feel optimistic about this team. There is a lot of talent at Notre Dame and there is a lot more coming in next year. We have a coach who was one second away from coaching in the national championship game next year.
I love this team. I feel bad for the people who are so upset right now because I feel like they can't see what I see. We're going to beat Stanford at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday. We're going to go 8-4. Bet on it.
