I had been hearing a lot of football terms being thrown around lately in the interviews and stuff and was just wondering what some of them meant. Clausen said last week that the big difference between last year and this year was not knowing the "hots" and "sights" plus CW talked today about Clausen now being the one that's picking out the Mike. I understand that that the Mike linebacker, but why is it that the QB is attempting to pick him out.

It's one of the QB's reads. If he doesn't know where the Middle Linebacker is, then he has no clue what kind of defensive alignment he is up against. Plus, all of the blocking is based on where the Mike Linebacker is. In addition, the QB is supposed to be the smartest offensive player on the field; who would you rather have giving you investment advice......... your garbage man, or your financial planner?
