Here are some of the experts early predictions of heisman candidates. Just wanted to see what others thought on who you think might win in 2005.

Vince Young, Jr., QB, Texas

Drew Tate, Jr., QB, Iowa

Adrian Peterson, Soph., RB, Oklahoma

Tyler Palko, Jr., QB, Pitt.

Reggi McNeal, Sr, QB, Texas A&M

Matt Leinart, Sr., QB, USC

Chris Leak, Jr., QB, Florida

Mike Hart, Soph., RB, Michigan

Ted Ginn Jr., Soph., WR, O$U

Reggie Bush, Jr., RB, USC

My early prediction would have to be Reggie Bush, based on how versatile the guy is and how effortless he makes things look. The guy is a straight up game-breaker. Plus the fact that he's on a team that will have only 1 loss this year will increase his chances greatly. Just my opinion for what its worth.

the thing that hurts Bush to me is that he plays on USC, so if they are great, its gonna be really hard for anyone to steal that trophy away from Leinart, especially one of his teammates. Plus, everyone was so shocked that he decided to stay rather than go to the NFL, I could see the Heisman voters looking very favorably on him for that. Like, I could see them really wanting to come up w/ a reason to vote for him to kinda "reward" him for staying in school when he easily could have been the #1 draft pick this year.

The only one that I could see maybe taking it from him even if USC is great is Peterson, and that's b/c a lot of voters took flak for him not getting it last year. A lot of people were pissed he didn't get it just b/c he's a freshman, and people were saying that if you want it to only go to Juniors and Seniors, then make the award restricted to just juniors and seniors and be done w/ it, don't pretend like the younger kids have a chance. Kinda like the oscars, like how Denzel Washington got the award for "Training Day" when he really deserved it the year before for "Remember the Titans" but Russell Crowe got it instead for "Gladiator", which was ironic b/c he probly deserved it for "A Beautiful Mind" the year Washington got it for "Training Day."

I like Adrian Peterson! I was really hoping he would get it last year because I didn't want a USC player to get it. Too late now for last year, but it's the same situation this year. I think Reggie Bush will have a great shot to win, but I really like Peterson, he's a monster!

Yea, I wasn't impressed with Leak. I doubt he'll be in the running by the end of the year, even in Meyer's system.

A-Pete will be the man. With White gone, they will rely on the run and ease the new QB into things. He's going to rack up a ton of yards this year.

I don't follow much big 10 football, but can anyone shed light on this Ted Ginn Jr. from Ohio State? Word has it the guy is lightning fast. I saw someone say he might be faster then any player in ncaa and nfl.

he is fast, and good. Peterson wont get it because just like we know he is going to get the ball a alot, so does every big12 team. Vince Young wont get it because he isn't good enough to beat Leinart. Bush wont get it because the West region will most likely give an overwhelming amount of support to Leinart. At this point barring an injury or a flop performance, Leinart will win.

i hate USC, but I think Leinart is a good kid, despite what he has said about ND in the past. I am just curious if he will be any good in the nfl. He has those knee problems and if he gets hit one good time....ouch. Adrian Peterson is a good kid plus a better athlete. Leak doesnt have a chance in my book. Ginn is really fast and he can break a game wide open, like he showed last year when the bucks played Michigan State. Tyler Palko from Pitt doesnt have a chance, with Leinhart in the running. Pitt will lose a few games next year and that wont help him. Besides, Palko only has 1 major threat on that team and that is the wideout Lee. Deangelo Williams from Memphis isnt on there, and he probably wont win the Hesiman, but he is going to be somebody to watch this year.

Palko is my dark horse. I don't think he'll win, but he's the real deal. Reminds me of Brett Farve. Leinart and Bush will cancel each other out, like Mcgahee, and Ken Dorsey did a few years back. I think Peterson wins it....

Willingham recruited Palko to play safety, didn't want him as a QB. We could've gotten this kid if we offered him as a QB and not a safety....

They knew it last year too and didn't do a good job of stopping him.

I'm curious to see what USC does without Norm Chow driving the car.
