What a great game last night, except for Lidstrom getting knocked out. Personally, I thought it was a dirty hit with his elbow to Lidstroms head, but then again I am a huge Redwings fan.

Fact is though that game got really intense and the rivalry could be back if we face Colorado in the playoffs, and I think that would be a great thing for Hockey. They need rivalries, that is the one thing this sport is lacking with the all the expansions and teams moving to different conferences.

What do you guys think?

I'm just glad the wings ended their freekin losing streak. I hate colorado. I'm glad we kicked their asses.

I want this rivalry to heat up again, I hate thinking that Detroit's main rival right now is between Nashville and Anaheim... that is retarded, I want rivalries against the Blackhawks, Toronto, Pittsburgh, and especially Colorado again.

This is what hockey is missing, Detroit is going to have a rough ride without Lidstrom though.

I agree. I would love to see this rivalry heat back up. I remember that huge fight when McCarty blasted lemieux!

That reminded me of the fight last night, Downey went right after the guy that hit Lidstrom and beat him up pretty bad. I'm glad we have Downey now, he's like our Mccarty but without as much scoring talent so far.

There is no better professional playoffs then the one for Lord Stanley's Cup! One hot goalie can make a Stanley Cup Champion out of an eighth seed.
