Personally, I don't want any more coordinators that used to be head coaches. I was leary about bringing in Minter for exactly this reason and he hasn't worked out so well thus far.
I like winning with rising stars, not falling stars.

Have you seen any calendars lately? The one I'm sitting next to says it's 2007 making a 1994 incident 13 years old. Considering there were no criminal charges filed in that incident and you did provide anything that indicates he has a lengthy history of domestic violence, I think you do an excellent job at raising a non-issue.

I'm not that interested in "innovative" defensive schemes. I think we should look at effective schemes that enable our players to play fast, and sometimes simpler schemes can make that happen.

Pretend he was being hired at Miami. Then what would people be saying?

Like it or not, we have the perception of being squeeky-clean organization. Heck, we fired a HC for a slight fib on his application.

Very good point. LSU's schemes are about some of the simplest around, but that allows their players to move around fast and smash you in the mouth. I'd prefer simple and Nasty to complicated and soft. We really just need to do a better job of putting our players in position to make plays, and sometimes simpler schemes allow them to do that.

Yes, but O'Leary wasn't fired for an act that occured 13 years ago.
