I will be in Chicago (with my wife) next Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
I have not been in quite sometime - Any suggestions on good local restaurants, bars, things to do, etc?

Where exactly is local? Will you be downtown?

Don't go south of downtown is my best advice. The only reason I do is to get to South Bend or a White Sox game.

Yeah, we will be staying downtown about a block off of Michigan Avenue. Probably just walk around on Thursday shop (Hurl) maybe get boat ride - I think the boats (architectural tour) are still running, etc.

Any ideas on a good restaurant (and/or bars) or two (reasonably priced). I use to know the area pretty well but it has been a while and I have lost touch.

Probably go check out Billy Goats - at least for a beer.

Had lunch there yesterday, it was really busy, and the guy did the bit from Saturday Night Live perfectly, pointing at everybody yelling "dubba cheese, dubba cheese, dubba cheese?" Then I got to the end of the line where they had all the cokes and diet cokes and I asked which was which, the same guy pointed at one, yelled at me, and said "that's coke...Jesus, pay attention."

Ahhhhhh, the ambience.
