Here's an idea for all of you fans that are bored to death during this slow period. Let's play "Buy or Sell" A memberwill pose a question about notre dame football and other members will respond by posting "buy" or "sell". Please give a brief explanation as to why you chose buy or sell. Then go ahead and ask another question!

(P.S. PLEASE don't hijack this thread, let's keep things civil)


I'll Start...

Q. Notre Dame will win a bowl game this year.

BUY, we will win the Gator bowl and end this terrible streak.

Q. Jimmy Clausen will throw 20 TD Passes this year.

BUY, most of his success will depend on our offensive line improvement. i think he'll just make it past 20.

Q. Michael Floyd will be a starting wide reciever in the first game vs. SDSU.

SELL, I think he will definitely be a part of the offensive scheme but it will be tough to take starting job away from Kumara.

Q. Aldridge rushes for his first career TD this year?

BUY, right now it looks like Hughes will get a bulk of the carries. But for Aldridge to not score once just wouldn't seem probable. As long as he stays healthy i seem him scoring around 4-5.

Q. Will ANY of our running backs average over 100+ yards/game this season?

SELL - We have too many runningbacks (Aldridge, Hughes, Allen) that will all share time so none will avg over 100 ypg.

Q: Does Notre Dame beat Washington?

BUY - I will be at this game and I think that this is our best road chance to really hand it to UW, plus our defense will be faster and we will blitz the QB with a passing rating of 40%

Q: Does Notre Dame stumble in East Lansing?

BUY, I think the irish will stumble in Lansing. Most of my reasoning comes from the prior game against Michigan. I feel that Notre Dame will lay it all out on the line against Michigan and win/lose a close one. Thus, I feel that Michigan State will take advantage of our, as they call it, "emotional high". Sorry to be a "debbie downer" on this one, but it's just how I feel.

Q. Will Dayne Crist compete for playing time and start at least 1 game this season? This excludes a clausen injury.

Sell, I think Dayne will make JC better but I just don't see him starting unless something happens to JC. He could get some mop up time in blowouts though but I'd rather CW redshirt him if possible.

Q. Who will be the breakout player this year for our Defense? (An unproven soon to be soph/junior?

BUY - Apparently there are some rumors about Walls not starting, possibly first game... I think Gray has a great chance.

Q: Golden Tate's receiving yards per catch average is over 25 yards.

Buy, With his route running capabilities being questionable and his speed so fast I see him being utilized for a Down the sideline or deep post threat.

Q: Notre Dame finishes the upcoming/current recruiting year in the top 5.

Buy, It will be very tough but I see a lot of people jumping on the ND bandwagon once we win a lot of games, I really expect this year to be like when Ty went 8-0, we are going to do good.

Q: Ragone averages more catches per game this year than Yeatman?

Buy, I think Ragone will easily grab 25 passes this year as we can not only line him up at the TE position but in the slot as well. He gives us a lot of potential mismatches with his freak like ability.

Q. We get revenge on Michigan this year.

Buy- Michigan lost a lot talent from last year and the talent they have on offense doesn't fit the new system.

Q. ND will have at least 1 1st or 2nd team all-american this season?

Sell - Unless ND wins almost every game they won't get the recognition they deserve, in my opinion. Although, I do like the chances of Ian Williams stirring some heads with the 12 sacks this year.

Q: Ian Williams makes us forget the name of that Trevor guy... you know, the guy who's last name rhymes with clause.

Sell, Ian has to do a lot for us to forget about Trevor. At least for me personally.

Q. our offensive line will give up less than 30 sacks this year.
