Rutgers biggest catch of this recruiting season was a topic in the editorial page in the Weds. 2/22 edition of the Newark Star-Ledger. The article was written by Mark Mattia of Whitehouse Station, NJ. [/SIZE
"You had two interesting articles recently about two of New Jersey's best high school football players. The first concerned Matt Boyer from Governor Livingston High School. Boyer was a Star-Ledger all-stater recruited by many big time college football teams, including Rutgers. Boyer is headed to Princeton where he believes, he will get the best possible education. When he told recruiters from big-time schools, many questioned his commentment to football since, apparently, Boyer felt college is, first and foremost , about education.
Your second article concerned a much ballyhoooed Rutgers recruit Anthony Davis from Piscataway, NJ. Davis states that he hates to study and he hates school. As a Rutgers graduate , I can't tell you how proud I am to have a diploma from a school that accepts someone who actually boasts about this sort of thing."
"What recruits say about their schools."
