This is why I wanted to hear more questions about recruiting from Golden and Mason. Don't get me wrong - I know MF is going to make it happen and I believe he will bring talent. But he can't do it alone.
Me too... ready to see it on the field. I will say this about both coach's comments... they were a far-cry from the 'passive' coaching of the past 10+ years. It seems they both want the 'Foot to the pedal - to the floor' type of playing from the players... we will see.
Enjoyed the conference with Golden and 'Mace'... I wish someone would have gone more in depth about their recruiting styles. There is no doubt the coaching 'pedigree' is at ND. But, would like to know recruiting styles, efficiencies, etc....
Beat me to it... I agree. Not only do the players have to 'Gel'... So do the coaches. I see this as a good coaching squad.
Entire Staff:
Marcus Freeman - Head coach
Tommy Rees - OC/QBs
Harry Hiestand - OL
Chansi Stuckey - WRs
Deland McCullough - RBs
Gerad Parker - TEs
Al Golden - DC/LBs

Agreed. I believe there were options (HCs) that may have been in the 'talks', but I truly believe MF was the front runner. I have always thought that a HC should have that rapport not only with their staff, but with the players as well and by the video of MF being announced as HC to the team...
This is a really good article / Q&A about NIL. Although, some of the answers are somewhat 'vague' and 'open to interpretation', it helped me understand it a little better.
NIL need-to-know: Answers to basic questions you have about new rules for college athletes
I sold some equipment and software for a company that makes the 'No Fog' face-plates that go into all size football helmets including the Hockey and Lacrosse helmets.
What puzzles me about the Covid concern in sports is that the NFL or any of the collegiate levels haven't enforced everyone wear...
I get that... But I don't think this is the last stop for a young coach at ND like MF. And IF he wants to prove himself and find himself as the HC at O$U (Maybe or NFL), he will have to score and score big.... if the Irish have one - 1 more TD per game they could have scored this year when they...
'There is no replacement for displacement'... MF doesn't strike me as a person/coach to take their foot off the 'gas pedal'. I truly expect to see ND take it to the next level with MF.
Call it a hunch......
It's the difference in playing 'College Degree' and playing 'Football'... but, with MF, I see a couple '5s' coming maybe next year or year after. We'll see. I do believe it will have a lot do with how next season plays out.
I agree... I didn’t want to insinuate I was looking for an argument from you on the ‘star’ comparison. I have a feeling though Bama is going to ‘boat-race’ Cincy. Honestly, 40ish to 20ish. Same scores Bama put up against the Irish the last two times they have played. And it doesn’t have to do...
Watching this SC/NC Bowl game - this is what I would envision with TB as QB like Beamer is doing with Joyner. I've had this in mind all year with Coan as the 'secondary' QB coming in.
