    2024 College Football Playoffs

I'll see if I can find it. It might be a premium ISD article. I can't remember. He talked about it on his podcast with Greg though, but I can't recall which one. Blue chip ratio was definitely a data point where ND was lacking behind the obvious Bama, Georgia, OSU. There were others, it...

ND media gonna come up with something better than "33 Trucking" for Love's Heisman campaign next year? lol

    2024 College Football Playoffs

If we're really interested in crowning a true champion, why not play series of games like the NBA instead of a single-elimination tournament? (Asking rhetorically. I understand the logistical nightmare and how impractical it'd be.) We all know some random bubble team isn't winning a...

    2024 College Football Playoffs

Can someone with a better memory than me recall Jamie U's breakdown in the off season about championship caliber teams and the things they had in common? Blue chip ratio, top ranked offense, top ranked defense, etc. He did an analysis on all the champions in the 4-team playoff era and then...

    2024 College Football Playoffs

For me, championships are the highest prize in a respective sport, only to be earned by the best teams competing against each other after having proved themselves worthy throughout a season. What I can't stand about basketball is how I can follow a handful of teams all year long who are...

    2024 College Football Playoffs

My magic number for playoffs was always 8 (no byes). The season for CFB is so short compared to CBB that regular season games have to matter. I agree that if they expand the field, it waters it down because it allows the possibility of a 3-loss team to get in. Losing 25% of your games...

    Russia Invades Ukraine

Thanks, I'll give it a read. Edit: @ColoradoIrish Meh, I get what he's saying but it's not convincing enough to me to just eliminate Glenn as a source of information. Sounds a lot like a whataboutism. I agree that becoming a caricature of one particular mindset or one way of...

    2024 College Football Playoffs

This is where I'm at, with one major exception: FG kicking unit is abysmal and in a tight game, I think ND loses because of it. ND has been winning by large enough margins that it hasn't mattered. OSU missed two FGs in a tight game against UM and it cost them. I worry about that with ND.

Yeah I was yelling at my TV for ND to adjust to what Riley was doing. USC has high caliber talent and speed. Riley, like you said, just singled out a DB and rotated guys at him all game long. They either caught the pass or wound up with a PI call. It seemed like a winning strategy, if only...

Can you fill me in on Glenn? I know that guy has said some outlandish things, but I didn't realize he had become a meme. I mean he did win a Pulitzer for his investigative journalism, did he not? I thought Liberals respected that guy back in the day, no? Maybe I'm wrong, but I largely...

I want to report this post simply because I don't live near a Hacienda. It's 9am and I'm salivating. Screw you man!

    2024 College Football Playoffs

I understand those were the terms ND agreed upon, but how asinine is it that this is acceptable? If ND truly was the #1 team in the country by all metrics, then seeding them as a #5 is unbelievably fraudulent. Think of it from other team's perspectives: The #12 seed has to play the #1 seed...

    2024 College Football Playoffs

Alabama lost the benefit of the doubt when Saban retired. I'm over it. Three losses should be a disqualifier for the playoffs, regardless of circumstances. You should not be able to compete for a championship if you can't even win the regular season games. I also feel like the seeding...

Kid should've had a receiving TD in the UVA game, if my eyes saw correctly. I believe Riley missed him and he was open enough (I have no doubt Aneyas would've gotten in for the score...the kid is really tough).

If I'm interpreting your post correctly, your original response to my post on accountability for the terrible calls in the ND game has now come full circle to you agreeing with what the NCAA is doing in response to poor officiating, yes? And all I've been saying is that I hope they look into it...

    Trump Presidency Round 2

I think that's pretty much how everyone feels. From everything I've read and listened to (podcasts, interviews, etc), the main focus of "MAHA" is attacking the corruption within our health system as it pertains to food, farming, pharmaceuticals, etc. It includes going after the FDA, NIH, etc...

    Trump Presidency Round 2

Yes it's true. Give Casey Means, Calley Means, and Vani Hari a follow. Fascinating (and terrifying) stuff from them on a regular basis. There is a viral post about Canadian Heinz Ketchup (paging Toronto to do a quick grocery run for us) compared to US-made Heinz ketchup. It's the same...

I think maybe it bears repeating, then, that we're talking about a multi billion dollar industry (industries if you include gambling). This isn't pee wee football with participation trophies. The bonus money these schools are getting for playing themselves into the CFP and potentially winning...

Completely agree with you except for the last part because UVA covered the spread and to a lot of betters, there was consequence in those absolute horrific calls. I'll have to ask my friend if there has been any push for an actual jobs program. A way to recruit, develop, and place refs into...

I'm not sure I understand your attempted equivalency of 9 year old soccer with a D1 level sporting event that is also associated with a ten-plus billion dollar gambling industry. Of course refs are just human and make mistakes and of course fans will act like idiots in their fandom by acting...
