I don't understand this either. He was behind Pescod all year and played guard when he did play. For reference, Augustine got reps at RT. Separately, I think I'm going to view what recruits get paid to attend as a signing bonus with the actual "salary" established each offseason on merit.

IIRC, it's coaches initiating the contact that's prohibited. Players can easily use a 3rd party to make the contact for them and I pretty sure the NCAA cannot legally stop (anything) players from shopping themselves around. They definitely cannot do anything to a 3rd party.
