Anyone have kids going through the recruiting process for football?

Got tired of waiting for Marcus to call and decided to pull the trigger on Austin Peay. Seems crazy it’s still a year away but that’s recruiting these days, even at the FCS level.

I’d go to whichever is the best matchup. Been to a couple games in Tuscaloosa (Miss State and an FCS opponent). Atmosphere was kinda boring as they drilled them both (peak Saban years). I’m sure it’s much better for marquee games. Personally, I’d love to go to a night game at LSU.

    Alabama HC Nick Saban Retires

Agree. I don't think of Saban as a shady coach and would have taken him at ND any time (unlike Urban and quite a few others). I'm sure he had a few Sam Gilberts around to help with player retention. I just don't like his moral high horse he's on. This is the same guy who wanted to eliminate the...

    Alabama HC Nick Saban Retires

Then find the players with that attitude and work ethic. Thats the job of a modern day head coach. Create that culture. I don’t hear Freeman whining about today’s players. The fact is talent had become more dispersed amongst the top teams and Saban didn’t like it. He liked the old system. Don’t...

    Alabama HC Nick Saban Retires

No we’re not. I was being facetious. College football has always been corrupt but Saban didn’t mind as much when he had a monopoly on 5 star talent with no rel options to leave.

It pains me to say it but that looks really good. 🤮

    Alabama HC Nick Saban Retires

I like the narrative of Bama fans that Saban is some torch bearer for amateurism and the purity of college football and just couldn’t work in the current corrupt environment of college football. Dude is a control freak (in a great way for a coach ) and didn’t want to work in a system where he...

    Brian Kelly Revisited (RIP BOZO)

My son has been looking at Dartmouth for football and when they first came by the school he had taken the ACT once and had a 25 and they said that was good enough. I was kind of surprised as I thought he would have to be near 30 for the Ivies. I assume ND is closer to 21 or so.

Ah, poor guy had some bad experiences so he quit trying. That’s what the fucking money was for.

    Brian Kelly Revisited (RIP BOZO)

The biggest disappointment about Kelly, IMO, was the lack of “chip on his shoulder” he had. I really thought the guy would come in and be a dog in recruiting. He worked his way up through the ranks and it seemed like he was the type of guy who wanted to prove himself against the big boys. He...

True but Elon has a hugely powerful tool in the form of Twitter/X. It will be nice to have a 3rd option of billionaires who don’t really care about the middle class.

I don't follow the USMNT much but the post game commentary hit on this fact pretty well. They also said Mexico was basically at full strength. Hopefully we're at our best next summer.

First game I’ve watched in the Gold Cup. Was really impressed with Mexico. Seemed the much better team. Not sure if this was just a one off or if they’ve got a really good team these days.

This is the one area that Koon is missed. Nobody could break down the bodies of teenage boys like he could. Had a real gift.

Which team was the best team Notre Dame defeated in the regular or post-season?

Gotta be the ‘73 Bama team. Notre Dame beat them in the bowl and they still won the NC.
