Follow the Money - The Big Business of College Football

I understand that, but roster costs could be $100 million in 3 years, not including recruiting budgets. Sure, this means we need more revenue streams, but to sell out the jersey to put a fractional dent in roster costs is beyond the pale for me.

True, but overtime the deal becomes less valuable as costs are expected to increase wildly. I’m fine with most financial realities, but selling out the most iconic jersey in football is not acceptable for me.

You are not wrong, but it is a multi-year deal and roster costs are likely to be increase exponentially over time. To me, it’s just not worth the sacrifice. There are more dignified ways to raise cash.

For $20 million? That’s what, a small handful recruits in a few years? Nah, this is just greed and misaligned priorities.

'27 MA RB Isaiah Rogers (Notre Dame Verbal)

Just got around to watching this kid’s film, so late to the party. But, I’m surprised he isn’t getting more hype. Exceptional combination vision, balance, and acceleration. Good through contact too, though there aren’t many examples. I think this kid is potential star down the road.

‘25 NJ WR Quincy Porter (Notre Dame Transfer)

He does come off like and ass in that video. That said, just watched his tape for the first time — I’ll be shocked if he is not starting by week 3.

lol, “talk with my team”. That’s red flag language whether he stays committed or not.

    Sports cards

This is where I am at too. I buy only PSA 10 rookie cards of players who are, or were in the hunt to be, rookie of the year — a la Victor Wembanyama or Conor Bedard. Hold them for long term gain, and if they flame out you can usually sell them for close to what you bought them for. Keeping it...

100%. He is also not great at just executing a pro offense efficiently— a la Stafford, Goff, Mahomes. Not saying he needs to get to that level, but everything just feels so difficult sometimes because his diagnosis and reaction are not great. He relies on his athleticism to create chaos in...

Marcus Freeman named Dick Corbett Head Football Coach

Same, I guess I’m not a detective. The dude in the grey hoodie to the viewers right of the exit doors looks like MF, that as close as I could get to an ID. Either way, big nothing burger.

Gotcha, I’ll take it. Kid looks like he could be a stud.

Nice! That said, maybe someone with better roster knowledge can explain this one? Seems like we have plenty of CB depth.

    Chicago Bears address

He just won the division and beat the Packers twice in dramatic fashion in a month — of course we love him right now. Bears fans felt this way about Rex Grossman too. But he is wildly inconsistent in decision making and accuracy, so was Josh Allen. He could end up Josh Allen, he could end up...

    Chicago Bears address

Definitely some SC hate from me, but there is plenty to be legitimately concerned about long-term — but much of it is fixable. Anyway, I want to enjoy the win, not argue CW, so I’ll let it go.
