    I was one of them. The Spanish language announcers just seem more excited to be there. Even if you don't understand everything they say, it just seems more compelling.

    The problem soccer in the US has is that if Erling Haaland grew up here, he'd be playing tight end. Strikers with 4.3 speed that are over 5'10" will be playing cornerback. We get great soccer athletes, but not the cream of the crop and we never will.

    A CBA is all well and good until teams start to go on strike. A CBA basically institutionalizes the "uncles" and adds another layer of middlemen feeding at the trough. The current students may be employees but they don't pay union dues.

    Congress has the same handicap that the NCAA has. They want to protect non-revenue sports (read women's sports Title IX) at the expense of getting revenue-generating athletes their fair share of the pie. Until there is TV revenue sharing by sport, this will continue to be a problem.

    This is stupid. Why should a regular person pay taxes on their wages, but a college kid making millions not be taxed? I'm all for NIL, but the kids need to pay taxes like the rest of us. A good life lesson for them.
