I don't buy it

I don't buy it

But they're sure talking it up on the Washington board; and they actually seem to want him.

goodbye Ty

goodbye Ty

I will gladly help him pack and move to Washington. After these 3 years at Notre Dame, Ty better jump on whatever offer he gets. Fire Ty now, there are too many good coaches available this year. Butch Davis and Urban Meyer lead my list. Let's bring back some enthusiasm to the stadium next year with a new coach, new attitude, and buzz in the air at the stadium.

since notre dame got a bowl bid, there is a strong chance ty will be back. I am hoping we get blown out in this crappy bowl because I want him to get canned. But even if we get blown out i dont think ty will get fired anymore because kevin white only cares about money. I dont know what to expect for next years team. I think we are going to get destroyed by alot of teams on the schedule. If we think this year has been bad, wait until we travel to Ann Arbor next year. We are going to get lit up by quarterbacks next year and since we are losing great players up front on defense, I cant only imagine what our run defense will be like. If they are coached like the secondary is, we will get beat by everyone. I hope Quinn improves his accuracy for next year, he has missed some easy passes this year. I think he has tremendous potential to be great, I just dont know where the coaching will come from to help him. I hope we get fast receivers who can catch to committ, but after the USC game and a likely killing of us in the Insight bowl might change their minds. No blue chip athlete will commit to a program that is flirting with a .500 record every year. Maybe our tradition can get them, but even that pick up line is growing old. The fact is we havent produced Notre Dame type football in a long time. We havent been serious contenders for the title since 1993 and not one player has even had a whisper of a mention at the Heisman. I honestly beleive Darius Walker is a gift for us. I think that kid will become outstanding, not just because of what he did this year, but his body size and his vision on the field allow him to make plays consistently. If ty stays for 5 years and we have his remaining seasons like this one, the next coach that comes in will have so much to rebuild. Yes it sucks bad, but to the current administration, money from a cruddy bowl game is more important than doing whats right for the program.

I'm Hearing Ty is thinking about the WSU job, and Urban is waiting to see what Ty does to take the ND job over the florida job. WSU fans seem to want Ty, as do Stanford fans.

I've addressed my misgivings about Urban Meyer in other posts. But Butch Davis? The guy who single-handedly wrecked the Miami Hurricanes football program and is about to get fired from the NFL? Yeah, he's just the guy we need.

At least Urban Meyer improved Bowling Green and Utah. That's not hard to do in the MAC and MWC, but at least he did that much.

...and is about to get fired from the NFL?

Strike that... replace it with "just got fired from the NFL". Butch Davis has been canned. Now he can take Notre Dame to the same depths he took the Miami Hurricanes and the Cleveland Browns. Woo-hoo.

Willingham would be a good fit at either school (interesting that Ty is released/resigns a day after Stanford fires their HC).

I just hope that ND can sign Meyer ASAP.

It didn't occur to me until I read this post that Stanford is open. I bet Ty lands back there. And how did Davis wreck the Miami program? He won a national championship there! How is takin' home the trophy wrecking a program? If you're talking about academics and such, Miami football has always been in the gutter in those regards. I think they should go after Gruden, then Davis, then Meyer. Yeah, Meyer has done well...but he's done well at Bowling Green and at Utah. Those schools fall way below the football standards of Notre Dame.
