I would give him an A for everything in every area except last years navy game. I really dont know any coach out there that is better...Notre Dame just needs to pick it up. the players are not excuting. The players I would give a C-.

Thank you for your post Mrs. Kelly

LMAO....Ive coached most of my life and I siigned up to this site after I found out about him being ND's coach. Having coached in NCAA schools, you heard about B. Kelly and heard about his style even before cincy from other coaches. He is a legend amongst other coaches and I loved the hire of coach Kelly.

There was a still photo on Sunday which showed Kelly several steps onto the field, face to face with Carlo as he walked off. Kelly's mouth was open wide and face was bright red. Now he may have simply been asking Carlo about his post game party plans but it sure didn't look cordial.

Even so, it clearly didn't last long, b/c just a few moments after the play was over, he was having that relatively quiet conversation w/ him I was talking about.

Again, after a penalty like that, who wouldn't yell, at least for a few seconds, at the player?

Oh wait, I know the answer to that one: Tyrone Willingham.

Anyway, so long as it's not too extended, and obviously he never puts his hands on the kid, I have no problem w/ his reaction. Seriously, other than the USF game, I don't think of BK as an over-the-top coach. He gets animated, no doubt. More so than some other coaches. But it's not out of the normal range, I guess is what I'm saying. Within 2 standard deviations from the mean, for those ever forced to take a statistics class.

Kelly's grade last year before this season would have been an A. I say this because of his great recruiting last year and the way that the team finished the season last year through all of that adversity. Now half way through this season thast grade has dropped down to about a B becuase it seems like the team does not have that instinct to finish games this season like it did at the end of last year. Then after Brian Kelly's comments last night I say that his grade would be back up to an A+. This is because everything he said is true and it should be the spark to get this team playing with that instinct that was lost this season.

Notre Dame fans are tough graders. Name me one other school that felt obligated to fire the head coach after a top 20 finish (Terry Brennan). I'm happy with BK. But I won't give him a grade because the season will do that. Right now, he's 4-3. I could whine about games that could've gone the other way but the reality is that the truly great Notre Dame teams didn't play all that many close games. BK has work to do but he's moving in the right direction.

Recruiting: A
Representation of the University: A-
On-Field Results: C+

I'd agree with this. I feel like Kelly has us on the right track and is getting the right kind of players for this system. The team is just not putting it together yet, and I don't think that's all his fault. It's hard to blame the USF and Michigan games on him when it was the players who royally screwed up.
