Nike releases famed "Back to the Future" shoe

Nike is going back to the future.

The company said Thursday that it has created a limited-edition shoe based on the model audiences saw in the 1989 movie "Back to the Future II." Sneaker and movie fans have urged the company for years to create the shoe.

Nike will release 1,500 pairs of the 2011 Nike Mag sneaker. It will auction them on eBay and donate proceeds to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Fox famously played Marty McFly in the "Back to the Future" time-travel trilogy, where he wore the glowing sneakers that laced themselves during a visit to the year 2015.

You know it's just a movie right? We are gonna get Hover Boards before that ever happens.

It looks like they are auctioning off 150 pairs of shoes (sizes 7 to 13) each day for 10 days. So far the first round of shoes are ranging from $3,600 to over $10,000 with bidding ending in about 13 hours.
