how does ESPN handle this poorly? you didn't really make much of an argument here, other than that there are more competitive leagues out there, which i agree about. but i don't see how that's ESPN's fault. Believe me, I hate ESPN as much as anybody out there (it comes with the Clevelander inferiority complex) but I've always thought they did a great job with this tournament. Not looking for an argument here, I just don't see what ESPN does wrong here. It's one of the few things that I like about ESPN

I apologize for not stating my problems with ESPN. It just seems to me that they take advantage of these kids by showing them on tv, and hyping them up so much. This is a fine line, because if a kid does well he should be given support, but sometimes after watching it seems as if ESPN is making these kids out to be the next big thing, which quite possibly could happen, but the reality is it most likely won't. I don't think it's right ESPN is making bank off these kids, but at the end of the day I don't work for them so it's not really my business.

Personally, I love the fact that ESPN has thrown themselves headlong into these games. Instead of showing overpaid, dumb*** professional athletes, I love watching the kids out there playing for the love of the game. The purity and emotion of Little League baseball is epic.

Sidenote: The Cal Ripken World Series is also taking place right now in Maryland and is televised on the MLB Network. Kentucky has a team in the Cal Ripken finals, as well as the team in the LLWS. Must have traded in the banjos and washboards for bats and gloves down in the Commonwealth...

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania isn't known so much for banjos and washboards as for fiddles and autoharps.

I'm sorry maybe im an *******, [i know i am actually] but I really dont understand why this is tv worthy, the Rugby world cup gets absolutely no media coverage [to my knowledge] but every 7 year old with a bats on tv, i like rugby, i love baseball but i see this as pure exploitation
