Attend a game in columbus then attend a game in Ann Arbor then tell me what you think.
I've had scUM fans offer beers often and talk lil smack, go to the shoe and you'll get spit on and all kinds of random things thrown at you.
ND could be undefeated and ranked ahead of OSU and no matter what OSU will still go "Oh they suck they could never beat us blah blah blah" they all live in denial.
I know about a million OSU fans who will swear up and down the NCAA was unjust and they did nothing wrong at all and should have NO PUNISHMENT let alone even a lil bit.

I have attended a few games at both stadiums, and honestly my experience is a little different that yours. As far as fans, I have a niece that did some tutoring, fund raising and was roommates with Robert Smith's girlfriend, while attending OSU. I have had friends, and friends sons who have played at both, and my experience has been the opposite of yours.
In fact I have a whole group that are Buckeye fans that root for ND when we are playing, and I support the Buckeyes, when they are playing. The only problem was my payoff for that bowl loss five years ago, the payoff was just damned embarrassing, but that's another story.
And as far as true Buckeye fans, as opposed to those that are the equivalents of Walmart Wolverines, they knew they had it coming, and silently sweat bullets, and are just glad to be coming out of it alive.
However, I am going to have fun watching the University of Toledo Rockets upset the Buckeyes, in Cleveland earlier in the day on September 10th. (You all should watch it; it's going to be fun.) The next week several nationally syndicated sports personalities, have selected UT to upset Boise State in the Glass Bowl. I probably will see that game. After all, both of these would be good for the Irish this year.
