Are Gabbert and Newton better than Jimmy Clausen??

For anybody who had Manning on their fantasy team they know he played terrible for awhile when Indy got hit with all those injuries. Not having time to throw, no running game and WR's running bad routes will make even a Hall of Fame QB look pedestrian.

The Patriots "plug in" great free agents and well drafted rookies. Indy's had solid teams for the better part of Manning's career and GB and NO were the last 2 super bowl teams. I understand your argument but your examples of guys who play for some of the best all around teams in the NFL is sort of weak.

This year (Brady won MVP)....who have the Pats plugged in at the skilled postions that were really good?? Deion Branch?? HA. And I think the rookies performance has more to do with how good Brady is, rather than how good they are.

As far as GB and NO go, they were in the Super Bowl...because of the play of their QB's. Talk about a perfect example of making guys around you better. Brees is a prime example. THere are no "stars" around him. Colston is good, but nothing special by any means. Rodgers has Jennings, but lost his TE and had absolutely no running game. I think those teams are great examples of QB's taking their depleted teams to new heights.

Matt Cassel played well and led that team to 11-5. Brady is a great quarterback... But Belichick is the genius behind everything. The random pieces that are plugged in and somehow work aren't just because of Brady; it's the brilliance of that man.

Brady threw only 4 picks and led the league in passer rating. Belichick can't go out there and throw the ball. Remember, the next "system" is always a year away. I respect Belichick, but Brady makes the throws. Execution is up to the players.

And Cassel did very well for KC. Took a team of unknowns to a division title. Without Belichick.

I think people give coaches way too much credit. No knock on Belichick, but Brady is a special QB and I don't think the Pats win all those super bowls without him.

Brady had two picks dropped in the endzone against my Bears in the first quarter alone. The interception is a misleading statistic.

I see what you're saying, but this isn't the NBA. Coaches are the most important part of a team and greatly affect the outcome of every game. You don't come away as golden as Belichick has on every single trade and decision that he's made without knowing something that we don't. Brady makes that team a super bowl contender, but they will always be in playoff contention as long as Belichick is on the sidelines.

And Cassel played well because of several factors, most of them being other factors than his own talent. Our old buddy Charlie Weis, the best running game in the league, and Dwayne Bowe taking every catch 80 yards to the house were what made Cassel's statistics. Look what happened in the playoffs when Baltimore took away the play action for him; I was shocked at how poorly he played.

And I totally understand that side as well.

As far as the dropped picks....what about the ones that were tipped and not Brady's fault (I believe a couple were)?? Goes both ways.

Yep, which is why I think it's so misleading. You have to watch a quarterback's entire season to really get a good opinion on how he played.
