The '03 class in the Top 10? Hardly.

Riddickulous, how can you say hardly, Brady Quinn was the best quarterback (purely statistical standpoint) in the history of Notre Dame, Abimiri and Laws went on to play in the NFL on the defensive side of the ball, Samardzija broke the WR touchdowns in a career record only to be broken by Floyd this year. A class with John Carlson, Zibi, Ryan Harris, John Sullivan. I do think it was an excellent class that had 2 stellar seasons, BCS bowls aren't a joke, yeah it sucks we didn't win a NC, but to make it to a BCS bowl in todays landscape is incredible. To say the '03 class in the Top 10 Hardly, doesn't make sense to me, just my opinion.

Thanks for sharing the link.

“Kory, do you see that man walking over there? Do you see that young lady over there? Do you see those students over there? They can handle this weather and so can you. I can buy you a coat; I can’t buy you a Notre Dame education. You WILL tell Coach Holtz you’re coming to Notre Dame.”
So awesome.

Perhaps, but #6 or wherever they're ranked is too high, IMO.

95' was one of my favorites. Only because I was young and living in South Bend. I actually lived on the same street as Mike Rosenthal and grew to know him.His mom was my math teacher in elementary school, and they had a great family.

Judging purely on wins and losses, I would agree that it is too high, 19 losses in 4 years is not great.

Judging on NFL productivity I might say it is right at #6.

actually I think you're right after thinking more about it, #6 is high, Top 10 I'm ok with.

thanks for sharing-an interesting list. Most teams listed from recent memory.

I wish the list wasn't labeled 'of all-time' because it leaves off too many ND recruiting classes that belong in front of most of the teams on the list that were recent 'vintage' (after the early 90s. teams) Such as:

1951-Guglielmi, Shannon, Heap,Szymanski, Varrichione, Carey,Lee, Palumbo, Cabral, Matz
1971-Clements,Penick,Bullock, Demmerle, Sylvester, Collins, Fanning, DiNardo, Mahalic
1974 Montana, MacAfee, Ernie Hughes,Reeve,Weston,Becker Harrison, McDaniels, Burgmeier
maybe 1921-all of the 4 horsemen, Adam Walsh, Nobel Kizer, Rip Miller and others
1927- Frank Carideo, Jack Chevigny, Jumping Joe Savoldi, Moon Mullins, Frank Leahy
1965-Hanratty, Seymour, Kunz, Kuechenberg, O'Brien, Gladieux

I wonder if the author actually researched all of the older teams and just decided the recent classes were really better.
Just my opinion-no offense to the author. Everybody has their favorites.

You said Heap twice.

But I agree with your class selections. How can the Four Horsemen not be involved?
