In like to get educated on the betting terms: What is negative odds, over under and moneyline?

Thanks

Are you asking this to f with me? haha. I explained it in the Iowa Missouri thread when you asked the other day

The negative and postive numbers are for those who want to bet on straight outcomes of games using no point spreads. If you see a team with postive odds then that means that they are the underdog. The larger the number, the more unlikely it would be for them to pull off an upset. Conversely, a negative number denotes a favorite. The larger the number means how heavy of a favorite they would be.

If you see +500, then for every $100 you bet you would win $500.

If you see -500, then in order to win $100, you would need to bet $500. (If you bet just $100, you'd only win $20)

For this game, Missouri is -140. For negative odds, you would divide 100 by 140 and get .71. If you bet 100 vbucks, you would win 100 x .71 or approximately 71 vbucks.

For postive odds, you divide 120 by 100 and get 1.2. if you bet 100 vbucks, you would win 100 x 1.2 or 120 vbucks.

To an extent, the moneylines pretty much correlate to the point spreads.

So the over/under is the the total points that they set as line for the amount of points that will be scored for the entire game. You either bet over if you think it will be more than the set number or under if you think it will be below the set number.

Point spreads are the number points a team will recieve to somewhat balance out the inequities of the home field, ability etc of each team. So Va Tech is +3.5. They are basically starting the game with 3.5 points on the scoreboard. So if you think the 3.5 are enough to hold off Stanford then you would take Va TEch. If you Think stanford will beat them by 4 or more points, youd take Stanford.

Holt Sh!t what a play. Tyrod Taylor with sick scrambling, insane throw and an insane TD catch.

I love having post convos with myself.

Mr. M, I concur. That was a sick sick play. Also, I'm not very happy with myself for letting you talk me into taking the over.

Is this what we can expect Golson to look like in a couple of years? Very athletic, great ability to scramble, throw on the run, find receivers in tight coverage and put a ton of pressure on the defense. If so, he's going to bring a dimension we have not seen before. Look forward to it.

Very aggressive reporting for ESPN. She muscled her way through that circle to get to Luck.

Haha yea, she was shuffled off to a defensive player, then asked him a quick question and she kinda blew him off. And then she bee lines for Luck and just rips him away from everyone. I was actually impressed with a sideline reporter for once in my life.

I assume ESPN basically has the "rights" to any/first on field interviews whenever they want?
