I sat behind the Montana Family at the Oregon vs. Washington game yesterday. Joe, Nate, Mrs. Montana, and Elizabeth. Nick Montana was 2nd string yesterday. As the Ducks Crushed the Huskies. I despise the Huskies and was very happy yesterday.

I was surprised that Nate was not sporting any Notre Dame logo stuff. Heck, I was. Took a little heat for it. But, the Duck fans were absolutely great. I was in the Husky section with my College roommate (who is a Huge Husky Fan--and it was the Huskies that gave me the crap).

So, it was good to see them at the game. and even better for the Huskies to get destroyed. I do like the Ducks, raced their many times while a college Track and Cross Country Athlete and love Hayward Field.

Anyhow, just wanted to report a sighting of a Notre Dame Legend and a current ND player.

Go Irish!

Thats pretty sweet. I have been to an Oregon game many many many many years ago and the fans are pretty sweet. And MAN that stadium was loud even in the late 80's. I'm surprised to that Nate was'nt wearing anything but can ya blame him? Maybe he's checking out how Oregon ran an offense and is transferring there. LOL

funny and random but when i was growing up as a child, my godmother always told me that she gave birth to Joe Montana !! but that he doesn't know it yet cause he was stolen from her when he was a baby !! so everytime i saw him on sunday playing for the 49ers - i would tell all my friends that Joe was my god brother hahahaha Man i love my Nina

Nick plays for Washington. And he was moved to 2nd string after Jake Locker had a broken rib. They started another freshman against Oregon, and saved his red-shirt.

Nate Montana plays for us :)

I just was disappointed he didn't represent ND. But, then again he does look like his dad and maybe didn't want to get interupted all game with fans. His dad sure did get interupted by fans all game long. As a ND Fan, I didn't bother him. He got it all game long by UW and Oregon fans.

Anyhow it was cool to see the whole family, and even better that Oregon crushed the Huskies.

Tony Rice was at my local bar on Saturday night, and wished my cousin a happy birthday. It's always cool seeing ND athletes in person!

How was he with the fans at the game, because I have heard he is a ****head at the ND games and doesn't want to be bothered by anyone.

Insert the four letter word of your choice.

oh yeah i wrote the wrong name in ......... (nate with nick, nick with nate) sometimes i mix them up hahaha

wow it just came to me why Nick was also there, ND had a bye week, man i need to lay off

well that's cool you got to see Joe

also i hope the best for Nate at Washing ton he's going to need it, with Oregon, USC, Arizona, & Stanford ruling the conference right now, plus Utah's joining. UCLA, Oregon St. and Cal i can see being pretty good next year. but Arizona St., Colorado, Washington St. & Washington i see being at the bottom of the food chain in the Pacific Conference. But hey i think when Montana is done with his career at UW (if he doesn't transfer) he could have better numbers then some of the great-good college quaterbacks there like (Damon & Brock Huard, Billy Joe Hobert, Marques Tuiasosopo, Cody Pickett, Casey Paus, Isaiah Stanback and even Jake Locker).

He was OK. He didn't want to have anything to do with them and you can see that. But, at least he would shake their hand, and then look away.

I can uderstand some of why this happens, I am sure he has been pestered at all times during his post ND days. But, I have seen way more gracious guys out there. Steve Largent the Hall of Famer from the Seahawks was totally great with everyone he was around. Gary Payton from the Sonics was the same way (he will be a Hall of Famer in a couple years).

I am sure Joe has people coming up to him at all times and it can be very bothersome, and he could be nicer. But, at least he didn't totally ignore them.

What I wanted to do was go up to Nate and say keep your head up and keep fighting, we support you! But, it was family time in my opinion. He was there to watch his brothers team. He didn't need me coming up to him. Or leaning down from by 1 row behind.

In conclussion, Joe isn't not Mr. Friendly he is pretty cold. But, I don't know how bad it does get.

Anyhow, go Irish! Oh, Rick Mirer seemed to be great guy when he was up in Seattle. Too bad our horrible offensive line destroyed his career.

After the Western Michigan game my wife and I were exiting the stadium and the Montana's walked out of the player entrance and literally Joe came shoulder to shoulder with me. We continued next to each other walking around the stadium to the parking lot. I had heard that he doesn't like to be bothered so I didn't ask for that picture I so badly wanted! A few people did approach him, and he declined autographs and pictures, stating..."no, I'm here for my son." (At which point a few turned to Nate and asked for his picture or autograph, and for the record he said sure.)
So is the hot blonde that is with them Joe's daughter or is it Nate's g/f?! Because I saw a few people shout out to her and she seemed to know them...

Haven't met all of them. But, Brunell I have met on a couple of occassions. A buddy of mine was on the Oline of the Huskies, while Brunell was the QB. Pretty nice guy. The other two I have never met.

One of the nicest NFL players ever is Jonathon Stewart. He is the back behind Jimmy in Carolina. He was a student of mine and a super kid. Down to earth, great kid. Jeremy Stevens was another student of mine. Well, he was a great kid in my class. Can't say the same elsewhere. Now looks to be on his way out of the NFL after his major pot bust this year.
