1. I think the most glaring thing in this game, was our lack of pride and passion. Ever since Lou Holtz left this team has had a dramatic decline in heart. Defense is all about passion and heart. The only one I saw out there playing with passion on defense was Manti. Our defensive line could not keep lineman off him to make more plays.
2. Brian Kelly has to commit to the run. Believe it or not I truly believe we can run the ball with very good yardage. Cierre Wood is truly going to be good.
3. Brian Kelly needs to open the QB competition up. Dayne Crist is not looking good at all. He has all the measurables one could hope for in a top flight QB, but I'm sorry I'm going to question his heart. Great QB's want to be in the game. When I look at Dayne he looks scared out there. He routinely panicks in the pocket. I truly wonder if his knee getting blown out last year has effected his psyche. Which is not uncommon for football players. Also, can someone tell me what they found out about him not being able to see during the Michigan game I never heard. I'm upset right now, but I sometimes wonder if the pressure got to Dayne in that game. Dayne I'm sure is a great kid, but I wonder if he truly wants to do this or not.
4. People should not say that Dayne needs more time in the system. They are running the spread. NFL scouts frown upon that system because it is too easy for QB's to run. Tommy Rees looked better than Dayne.
