Irish Icers Open Season with 6 - 3 Win

After an exhibtion win over University of Guelph (Canada) last weekend, Jeff Jackson's Notre Dame hockey team opened the season with a 6 - 3 win over Holy Cross in the first game of the Warrior College Hockey Ice Breaker Tournament in St. Louis. Freshman winger Anders Lee scored a hat trick in his first game with the Irish while linemates Ben Ryan and Ryan Guentzel each had three assists. Mike Johnson had 32 saves in net. The Irish will play Boston University (who beat Wisconsin) at 3 on Sunday in the Championship game.

Good luck back at you. Red is and always has been a class act. Hope you are wrong - only in that I hope the Irish return to the FF and come home with it all (very young team though and as good as Mike Johnson has been we could really use him to rise up to the level D. Brown played at).
