A couple of points here. First, back off the kid and allow him to make his own path. I am sure that being away from home at a college many states away can make any kid a bit homesick. Second, between football and school work, ND is quite a workload to swallow for many. Third, following recruiting, practices and general football is one thing, but chasing kids comments on Facebook is over the line. Finally, unless Nix gets in freaky shape and Ian gets hurt, it is likely that Kelly's plan for Nix has been redshirt all along. I am sure that he has expressed this to Louis, so he is not shocked.
Good Luck Louis. Freshman year is the toughest, but you will be glad you stuck it out in the end.
