ND will be constantly all over the media this fall. All eyes on the irish. What do you guys see the big story being? Be specific...

I see ND being 4-1 heading into Pitt with the panthers being 4-0.

ND's defense is going to be better then most expect with a few standouts taking the headlines, and the offense really start clicking in chestnut hill against BC. The nation will be drinking the green tea when Pitt rolls into south bend. ND will be ranked #16 and Pitt probably #9.

Bret Farve to lead throwing session with Irish. He then features "The Decision: 2" hosted by Brian Kelly and Brad Childress.

ESPN expects to get huge tv numbers which Farve will donate all proceeds to AARP.

You think Pitt will beat Utah and Miami??

That would be something for the Stache.

I think "the U" will be good, but not great. ESPN is making them out to be a lot better then they are going to be. And I think theyll take down Utah. I think Pitts going to be pretty good, the stache has got something going on out there.

I think Canes will make a bcs game this year. Oline will be questionable though.

ND outscoring opponents by avg 21 ppg will make some headlines.

Notre Dame starting off 4-0 would certainly draw some headlines.

I dunno, on paper it would look really good...but that could be decieving with Purdue and UM. Purdue should be decent but I think they'll finish 5th in the big ten. If UM beats ND...they might roll to 8 wins...they have to start strong. If ND wins, and wins by 13+ ( as i expect) life for RR and the Wolvs will start to unravel. MSU is the test. Its 50/50 i think. I wouldnt bet on this game. Stanford will be ranked at the time I believe, and ND will win. BC has Vatech the week before ND at home. In 08 BC upset VT, and I think they may pull it off again after getting crushed last year.

ND will be 3-1, teetering on the bubble of the top 25 when 3-0 BC gets the Irish. This is the weekend I think it all begins to gel and click for the Irish. ND and BC hate eachother, its a rivalry, BC will be ranked, ND owes BC a ass beating for the last decade, Kelly sends a message.

ND comes to Boston and rocks the eagles in the mouth.

I think the back half with Navy, Utah, SC and even Tulsa is realistically stronger then Purdue, UM, MSU, and Stanford.

Navy definitely is impressive and see them in the top 25. I think Stanford will probably be the toughest team out of the four with Michigan St a close second.

I think what we have to do is look closely at the big picture of what ND is. ND finished 6-6 but was not, and should not have been a 6-6 team. If ND had a coach who was with the program, they would have atleast won 9/10 games.

Sure we have a new system/QB. But its a easier system to grasp that is extremely QB friendly with enough talent to score points. BK is not rebuilding a team like 2007. He is going to structure his plan that will enable his players to be in the best place to succeed and maximize there talent...which has not even come close to their ceilings.

It can be argued that some of the players have regressed since they arrived. If BK can get the players to as whole play up to 75% of there max potential this season, then ND will win 8-9 games.

The big variable here is the secondary, the offense will score, the secondary has to be atleast average. Which is think it will be.

Yeah I agree the secondary will be questionable. Also with a new QB with basically no experience at all, Crist may be prone to throwing into coverage. We should be able to move the ball, but at the same time I would be weary that the offense may give a game or two away.

I am not sure about the offense giving away games. Its so player friendly, and requires less thinking then CW's. It seems more fun to play in.

One thing I saw that I liked about Kelly which some of you may not. Hes not afraid to score, and score a lot on his opponents whether its fair or not.

70-3, 47-15, 41-10, 37-13 are some of the win margins from last years cinci team. ND needs to make a loud entrance. Crushing UM/Purdue by 3 or 4 TD's would talk a lot more then a 3 or 4 point win. I cant wait.

I always hated that about CW - he was always so concerned about not running up the score or things like that and he would get so conservative with the lead. I am of the thinking that it is the other team's responsibility to stop you. If you have your foot on their throat, you keep pressing down until you hear the loud "SNAP!" and the body goes limp. Run up the score - who cares? I would love to see us hang 50+ on Purdue. That would send a good message. I don't know if it could happen, but if Kelly has the opportunity, he should take it and hammer them as much as possible.

I agree that the defense is going to surpass expectations. If they do and the offense is clicking the way Kelly's offenses normally do, there is a good chance that both ND & Pitt will be undefeated going into that game.

If that's the case, and both BC & Stanford were undefeated going into their respective games against the Irish, that will be a HUGE story.

Not too many teams have beat 3 good undefeated BCS teams 3 weeks in a row (I think... I could be wrong).

I think ND defence is going to be a huge suprise...and I think Manti, Fleming, Moore, will have a great year...however I beleive Zeke Motta...will have a big year. No one is talking about him-- at all...he is Big, Fast, and has that IT to him....look out he will bring the wood! Crap getting way to pumped for the season...so much for sleep tonight...lol

Yes! Zeke will be on a mission this year. There is so much raw talent on defense that with some good coaching, I just can't see them not getting the job done this year.

Between Longo's conditioning program (w/ the training table) and Diaco running the 3-4 to take advantage of the player's natural positions, I'll be dumbfounded if we don't see dramatic improvement this season.

I say they start 3-1 but if they do start 4-0 the nation will be turning around to see whats going on in South Bend. It'll be like a celebrity walking into a room and all eyes turn. I think the sports media can feel it already. There is a sense/anticipation that you can feel. They may not win as many games as some would like but when this season is over the country will know the program is back. This guy simply wins games. * Secondly I'd like to ask a question and hope the mods dont nail me for starting a new thread-I just reread Resurrection (1964 season ) and wondered if that was repeated this year how many people would think it was not enough. If Kelly could pull that off his first year or they could duplicate what Cinn did last year I would hope that it would be enough to light the fire.
