Like I said, I highly doubt that it was his final list. Look at the date...it was in mid-November. I've said all along that things can and will change before the draft because of the combines and pro-days, but for now, it's easy to see why Clausen is so high on SO MANY lists. It's not just Mel's lists...go do a Google search of all the mock drafts out there. Jimmy is in the top 10 in every single one that I saw.

And Colt Brennan, btw, at this point in their careers, were complete opposites because of their systems and their film. Once Brennan had to perform in front of scouts, he went waaaayyyy down on their boards. He couldn't make the throws, he was small, and he had never gone under center before. Jimmy makes pro throws (ask any QB or scout...the deep out or the deep comeback is the hardest throw to make. JC does that better than anyone in college football, and has proven it over many many games), and has done so all year. Like any QB, he'll be a risk, but as far as him falling the way Brennan and co did that year, he's the one QB that I don't think it will happen to because the way he throws the ball will be conducive to a pro-day set-up...

Only complete shit-for-brains like Todd McShay don't consider Clausen the top QB in the class. Only Ndamukong Suh has a chance to go above him.

Jimmy Clausen Draft?

Jimmy Clausen Draft?

I know this is very old but I was so confused during the draft since kiper jr. and a lot of other guys were saying jimmy was going to go top 15-20 in the first round.. instead tebow and mccoy get picked before him? some say it was leadership.. what do you think?

I think this should be in another section.

Colt McCoy was drafted in the third round. I assume you meant Bradford and Tebow.

Anyway, it was the attitude. Clausen has his perceived arrogance.

I suppose it should be in the Pro section, where pro sports are discussed, but since it's about Clausen it might be okay here.

alright sorry.. i dont know how to move it though so..

Only the mods are allowed to move threads. But it shouldn't be a problem.

Bradford, I think, is a better prospect. McCoy is horribly overrated and Tebow is probably the most overrated quarterback in college football history.

Just the percieved arrogance of Clausen. I honestly think that McShay constantly bashing him dropped his stock. His evaluation raised more questions than were out there

Different years and all, but it is amazing that Jamarcus Russell is the #1 pick, and Clausen falls. They seem to want to find projects.

I remember watching a roundatble discussion on NFL network. Cant remember everyone but the former Titans GM was on there for sure. Anyway they were saying how alot of GM's and coaches believe it is all about the system. So a player with incredible measurables like a Jamarcus or Vernon Gholston can be brought in and slide right into the system. This was during the time of the Young/Marino HOF class and one of the guys (who believed in systems not players) said that Young was not a HOFer in his book because he was a sytem QB and anyone could have done what he did. That may work for some and obviously some players work better in certian systems but that seems to be an idea that is spreading in the NFL today.

I'd feel bad for any NFL team who's front office would be persuaded by McShay.
