Paraphrasing Kiffen: "I didn't know anything about it. I read all 78 pages and my name wasn't mentioned, so I didn't know anything about it..."

Damn, 30 over 3 years is a real killer!!!!!!!! Couple that with the 2 yr bowl ban and SC just got bent over. Love it! When will Garrett get fired LOL.

Seriously though, USC simply cannot miss on ANY recruits. Think about it...they get 15 a year for the next 3 years. That cripples their depth, and if they miss on just one or 2, which happens everywhere (think, Vadel Hazelton), or they have guys that get injured, or they have guys that have career-ending injuries (think Jarvis Jones), they'll have a couple walk-ons playing major roles.

With these scholarship losses, SC will have to have everything go right - everyone they sign plays to their potential, no one gets homesick, no one gets injured, none of the upperclassmen transfer - in order for them to be a national powerhouse. Highly unlikely. They have a 5 year climb back into national prominence, and they're being led by a guy who has never sniffed a winning season as a head coach.

I'd like to say I feel sorry for them, buuuutttttt, you reap what you sew. And to think, those scumbag coaches left Tennessee after one year and tried to classlessly steal Tennessee commits on the way out so they could go coach at SC; well, they are getting what they deserve.

Oh, and one more thing SC fans are ignoring - old man Kiffin will be retired in 2-3 years, so there goes their trump card on defense!

"Oh, happy day (oh....happy day!)"

Don't forget any of the ubiquitous arrests that seem to follow SC in your list of potential pitfalls.

There's speculation Mustain may transfer again. He can do so without sitting out a year.

Latest thread from WeAreSC:

USC must take the NCAA DOWN NOW! - WeAreSC Forums!

I've heard responses from Carroll, Kiffen, and an SC adminstrator, but not a word from Garrett. Odd. Even the women's tennis team has to vacate victories. lol. Basketball team... Maybe Garrett is looking for a new apartment.

I don't want to copy and paste all the posted questions about transferring but here is the answer for USC Juniors and Seniors, they can transfer to another school and will not have to sit out a season because of transfer. Actually, they can also talk to other school's coaches without penalty as well about transferring. I can't remember the guys name that I heard on the radio today giving the information but he works for Rivals and runs the USC site there.

That is something the NCAA should allow since the biggest gripe most people have with these sanctions is that the present players were not there when the infractions were committed. This would stop that talk and also would be an additiona penalty for the schhool.

Horsehockey!! The NCAA should keep the rules the same........you transfer, you sit out a year. Then maybe these kids will stop signing LOIs with schools that are known offenders. If they are down to two choices, and one of those choices is a great risk to have sanctions handed down, and the other is a clean program, then stuff like this will help steer them in the right direction. This year's class absolutely knew that this was at least a fair possibility, and they gambled that the NCAA would go weak on 'SC. They are now learning the first major "life lesson" of their young adulthood: gambling involves risk. Sometimes it pays off, and sometimes it doesn't.

USC sanctions

USC sanctions

Why shoudln't we be cheering for the USC demise? The sanctions were minimal at best; they should have been required to forfeit all the championship year games. Our continued independence certainly doesn't relate to USC status as a powerhouse team. And finally, we all know now why Pete Carroll left!!!

Lane Kiffin On NCAA Sanctions - ESPN Video - ESPN

Here's a couple quotes from Kiffin quotes you guys might find interesting!!

1) "We'll continue to play at a championship level."
-Ummm... No you won't not for a guaranteed 2 years buddy.

2) "I believe this in no way will impact our recruiting status.. We're USC.
-YES, You're USC, which is now labeled as a cheating school... And you are losing 10 schollies a year for the next three years, so that might have a little impact on U$C's recruiting status.

Kiffin is making nooooo sense... He's apparently in disbelief that the NCAA actually is making USC get their just desserts.

If anyone is interested, you can read the whole report by going to the ESPN site. They have it in a pdf file. I've copied it onto a flashdrive for posterity.

I also read the whole thing. Quite a read. SC tried to throw the basketball program under the bus to save football. They basically agree with most everything alleged in BBall, but disagree with about 75% of the football findings.

I wouldn't be surprised if SC (either through Garrett or Carroll, or both) conspired with Sports Agent B and Bush to clam up so they could hide behind "there is no credible evidence" bullshit they keep telling the NCAA. The NCAA actually did a great job of corroborating stuff they were told by Agent A. In the report, the Committee states that they had discussions about whether the Death Penalty should have been imposed, but they decided that they should back away from it.

I agree. Screw all of these condom fans who keep saying that "We still have the AP title." Bullshit. Absolute bullshit.

What he might by that, is that they will still roll over teams and blow people out, with a chance at going undefeated, aka playing at championship level, but they won't be allowed to play in the Big Game.

I know they plan on appealing and personally I think the NCAA might bend a little bit. But they seem like they want to punish USC.

Even if they do end up losing 20+ scholarships, they could still get creative like Miami did with Latwan Anderson.

Glenville's Latwan Anderson is headed to Miami | cleveland.com

Granted, I know with Anderson, he is supposed to get a football scholarship next year when Miami has one freed up, which USC would not have the luxury of doing.

I think SC will do a couple things like this and have some pretty damn good walk ons that excel in another sport or the kind of rare student athlete with the brains to be admitted without the football hook.

I don't expect USC to go down without a fight.

I just wish they could have found a way to remove USC's lame, and against the rules, AP national championship. I hate the fact that the AP voted USC the national champion that season instead of LSU (who won the the title game fair and square over OU). It's like the AP decided mid game "we know we agreed to a certain structure, but halfway through we're going to change the rules because USC is sooooo cool". The Trojans didn't earn that title because everyone playing was under the same rules and structure: the two teams that play in the title game, whomever wins is the national champ. That was LSU..not the AP going rogue and naming USC it's title holder. Eff that, eff USC, and this post was made drunk. So there....eat that SC.

-dre

BTW...while I'm at it. Bush is a cheater, his Heisman should be revoked, and yet again...USC can suck it. NeuteredDoomer for president.
