Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals, 05/28/10

I'm headed to the windy city for my first trip this May. I'll be at the Cubs game on May 28th vs. our old rivals, the dad-gum Cards. I hope we take the game... I understand the first 10,000 fans get a "washed Cubs hat." How sweet!

Our section is in 102. I have one HUGE concern though. We have a 3-year-old daughter that hopefully will pass for a 2-year-old daughter. I had no idea they would limit age until I contacted my buddy from Illinois. We only bought four tickets and there will be 6 of us counting our two girls. His daughter will be 3 in August but will still fit the 2-year-old criteria. I'm certainly not a cheater, and I hate to flex the rules but I need some guidance from experienced folks. She'll never leave our laps unless we go for a walk.

Will we be able swing the attendance or should I try to make provisions otherwise?

Sweet! Hey, what are some fun things to do while in Chicago besides Six Flags and the zoo there in Lincoln Park. We're staying two miles from Wrigley.

Anyone got some advice? Also, what parts of town should we stay away from?

Make sure to stay hungry one day, then grab yourselves a 'za at Uno's pizza on Ohio St. (if they are still there after the bancruptcy, lol). Read up on Chicago history, then go visit Al Capone's house at 7244 S Prairie Ave, or the fire station 137 DeKoven Street where the great Chicago fire started. (ironic) Go visit the Jackson house in Gary on your way to ND. Then...

Thanks guys. This was a dream I realized only later in life. I was fan as a kid, but not until I got older did I delve deeper into fanhood. For both ND and the Cubbies...

I can't wait to be in Chicago with my family. It truly is one of the great cities of the world.

Cool.. Thanks for some the info guys. I also will be making my way to Chicago for a game this summer. I'm going to try to hit a traditional day game. Do any of you guys know who I can get in touch with to see if where I can find Ernie Banks being a autograph signing or at a place he likes to eat at?

So far, I got the Lincoln Park Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, Uno's, Historical Chicago Fire Origin/Fire Station, Sears Tower, and of course the Cubbies game planned.

Any other suggestions?

Your girls may enjoy a trip to the American Girl Store on Michigan Ave. You, however, may not enjoy it as well.

Thanks AB2CMiller. Always take care of that which is most important...

I'll make sure we stop by.

Ahh yes. I forgot to include that in my list, though we have already looked at tickets. I would have secured the gig online but they only offer season parking electronically... Weird huh?

I was wondering what kind of lake excursions Chciago had to offer. Just sitting next to the lake and watching a sunset may be epic...
