Also don't forget the Canadians were very VERY close to being knocked out by Slovakia. If Pavel Demitra puts the puck into a gaping net without Luongo getting a glove on it, we are talking about a completely different game. Miller is a stud. Parise was awesome. Dustin Brown was the best player who didn't tally a point in the tourney - he made huge plays that didn't make the stat sheet.

And if pigs could fly we wouldn't have bacon for breakfast. Fact is he did whiff on it, fact is Canada won the gold. Absolutely fantastic game and its the reason why hockey is greater than God up in these parts.

Nielson ratings came out, 35million Americans watched the game. 27 Million Canadians also watched. Think about that... The better part of 85% of Canada was watching that game. You could have burglarized almost every house North of the border and gotten away with it.

Uh, thanks. Never debated the facts. Just giving up my opinion that the supposed "gap" between the Americans and Canadians wasn't as great as people thought prior to the tourney.

I would love to see those two teams play a full 7 game series. It would be 1-1 with game 3 coming back south of the border.

My 2 cents.
Game 1 We ran into the hottest goalie in the tourney during game #1. It shouldn't even have been a game. As for game #2, we nearly sh*t the bed against the US just as in the previous game vs Slovakia. Team Canada has the same problem that Irish do, everyone goes to the calendar and puts a big red circle around the game they play against them because its the biggest one of the season. The US team has one advantage against the Canucks, the US team sees them as the enemy and gets fired up much more so than the Canucks do. We still look at team Russia as the enemy. We've had a horrible time against them, our win over them in the quarter finals is the first time we've beaten them in the olympics in 50 years. 5 0 years! Can you believe that stat? Crazy. It was nice to see both the mens and womens finals of the US vs Canada were close games and very entertaining. Cannot wait for more action.

I think the game changes when you have a great goalie. Brodeur is one of the best ever, but I don't think he is equipped for this kind of tournament. He made a lot of bone headed plays.

When you have confidence in your goal tender you are able to play a little more freely, knowing that if there is an issue that he'll be able to back stop something.

I don't take anything away from the Americans, they played a hell of a game. I cringed when the US tied it up because I knew in a shootout we were cooked.

PS, in hockey its 2-2-1-1-1.

Exactly, we played 2 in Canada. Each team won one game hence the 1-1. So we would be coming home for games #3 and #4 in the States. Unless I am missing something with the conversion rates and all.

NM, I thought you put with 3 coming south, meaning 3 games.
