Consedering that this is an informed group of Irish fans, I would like to tell some ,if they are unaware, of the Irish Bama connections. As you know Alabama with it's great football tradition and Tradition rich Notre Dame are more alike than most people think.
Alabama Head coach Paul 'BEAR" Bryant played his college football for the Tide in 1932-1935. He played for Coach Frank Thomas who played for Knute Rockne at Notre Dame. Coach Thomas's Roomate was one George Gipp!
I just think that It is neat to trace the Rockne to Bryant lineage.
Best of luck in the future Irish!!!

For me... Bama and ND are the two most storied programs in college football. Until the last 22 years, ND has avg'd a Nat. Champ. only as often as Bama and visa versa... USC goes 32 years without, Ohio St. 38, UM 49, LSU 45, Penn. St. 25, Texas 35, Georgia 28+, Tennessee 31... etc... Florida is the snot nosed new kid on the block... ND & Bama are both the most consistent. Funny how when Bama was down they called them irellevent and the same with us. Look forward to playing against them again for another NC showdown.
