I think herbie wants us to be great again

My take on Herbie is this, he loves college football. He was (and still is) part of a storied program at Ohio State. He is a good speaker, fluent, and knowledgeable about football whether it is college or pro. He wants to see Notre Dame succeed because he loves the history of college football as well. He is not a homer and shows no favoritism towards any team he is announcing. When he disagrees with other analyst or announcers, he is very diplomatic with his argument(s). I have always liked listening to him.

Herbie is about as good as it gets for ESPN's football. He's just so smart and articulate. I like the College Gameday guys period (besides Howard). Lee more for the comic approach though.

On a somewhat related note, I am really going to miss Peter Gammons for baseball...
