Jimmy started Kindergarten late...way late. He was seven years old in September of his kindergarten year. He was also held back in sixth grade. Jimmy Clausen is a 22 year old true junior. So the dude was 15 in eighth grade....he could've had driver's license. He was 19 when he graduated high school in December 2006. In teen years he had a pretty distinct advantage. I mean think about a 16 year old freshman in high school competing against 14 or 15 year olds.....that's a huge gap in high school. He was as old as some juniors when he was a freshman in high school and college.

That type of gap won't do much for him at the next level but I promise it helped him get to the point he's at today.

It's a whole new ballgame at the next level folks.

You're right, it is. And Clausen showed, often, this year, the exact skills needed to succeed at that level. He was absolutely on fire, for much of the year. His accuracy was great, but his timing was even better. That's what really seperates great college quarterbacks from great pro quarterbacks. Many college quarterbacks read defenses well enough to play on Sundays. But few of them have the timing, to go along with the accuracy, needed to be successful. Clausen will be fine at the next level. Maybe not great, but he will be a starter.
