I think Clausen playing injured only added to the Heisman hype, that was just plain awesome. The defense cost him the Heisman and Charlie his job.

To me, it was an almost toss-up, between Tate and Clausen. In the end, I had to go with Tate, because fortune smiled on him and he spent the season injury-free. Tate was available for every quarter of the year, while Clausen did miss, what, about a half? Not Clausen's fault at all, but I had to break the tie somehow.

Tate.

Remember, Jimmy promised us National Championships. By his standard, he underperformed.

Every scrap of news I've seen reported regarding his toe injury deemed it not serious. It was turf toe, which is painful, but he wasn't putting out a Willis Reed-esque effort. Though I know I'll catch hell for this, I'll say it again: Jimmy sure seemed to start limping around more when things got rough. He seemed fine in the Navy game until that interception off Floyd's back and his fumble. IN both instances he had been moving quite gracefully and then limped off the field after some tough turnovers.

I've had turf toe and it's painful but I'd rather play with turf toe than a sprained ankle and many other injures. I'm not questioning his heart or resolve--I'm saying that he seemed to be a bit more dramatic about the toe injury when things got tough. In any event this whole thing has been overly romanticized. By the time next season rolls around people are going to be saying he played through a broken ankle while gangrene set in on his foot.

I voted for Tate. But the scary part is, before Floyd went down, Floyd was better!!!

Tate is the best offesnive player I have seen since The Rocket!!! Everytime the dude grabbed the ball he had a chance to take is too the house.

And just to apologize to Tate.... I once called your swagger and arogance something that would cause us to get a penalty, but DAMN was I wrong. Tate proved to be one of the best players I have personally ever seen play the game of college football. Tate will be an amazing addition to any NFL team!!

Jimmy deserves to be on the list as well. JC made throws that were down right ridiculous. I can think of two bombs that were put into Tate's hands that he couldnt hold onto that we just downright amazing (Michigan game and Stanford game). Either way I think both will go on to have very successful careers if put into the right programs.
