Urban Meyer 15/4
Brian Kelly 1/1
Jim Harbaugh 15/4
Chip Kelly 5/1
Kirk Ferentz 15/1
Bob Stoops 5/1
John Gruden 30/1

Chip Kelly???? Have we sunk that low???

I dont think he would be that bad. Look at the way he brought Oregon from disaster to probably Pac 10 champion. Its odd though because no one seems to be mentioning his name, but according to this there is a decent chance he is the next coach. I doubt they know something that we dont, but its interesting.

The other interesting thing is I originally saw this a week or 2 ago, and Stoops was 20 or 30 to 1. Now he is 5-1. hmmmmm.....

That's my horse....

I've been trying to get ahold of a very good friend of mine who's known Stoops since 3 yrs. old.....see if he's heard of anything.

Chip Kelly is a good coach. I don't like him on this list because hes in his first year at Oregon. Most likely hes not going anywhere for awhile.

That's what I was getting at.....not that he wasn't a competent coach.

Chip Kelly?

If Swarbrick hires him there will be a huge revolt against him. We dont even have the personnel to run his system.

I was just saying that I dont think he is a bad coach. I dont see him getting it. I think there is a reason his name isnt really being mentioned. Thats why I was so surprised to see those odds.

I do think he will be a hot name in the years to come though.

This might come as a mild shocker to you all. But frankly if ND doesn't hire someone with a defensive pedigree then you might as well stick with Charlie. Someone brought up a good point today basically saying that if you hire Kelly you are exchanging offense for offense... And I agree to a point. Kelly's offense works, Weis's not so much.

I think my short list would be Patterson, Stoops (If not I might settle for his DC Venables) or Kelly. Anything outside of that would be a shocker, IE Meyer, or another losing proposition, IE Gruden.

These "odds" are based on media reports, nearly all of which are based on speculation. It's fun and all to read this stuff, but take it with a grain of salt. After all, how can Urban Meyer have same odds as Harbaugh? There is no chance that Meyer is leaving Florida, and I doubt Harbaugh would leave Stanford to coach ND, a rival of his alma mater (badmouthing Michigan is one thing, coaching its rival is another.)

I don't believe the Stoops thing but if he's willing to move to SB, I'd send a stretch Hummer limo to the airport to greet him with 4 Heisman trophies inside. Powlus would drive, of course.

Corwin Brown played at Michigan.

I'd rather keep CW then have Chip Kelly to be honest, I hate those gimmick offenses, plus like others have said before he is in his first year at Oregon, and if they lose to Oregon St. Oregon aint going to the Rosebowl, so that would want to make him stay even more.

I was thinking the same thing about venables if they cant get stoops, saying that though i really really want stoops to be the next coach at nd
