You realize that simply firing someone will not fix anything. Also you are not part of the decision so what hard work are you talking about?

My problem is that when i play sports, i play because i love to play i want to win no matter what and i want to win for my school,my team, my pride, my ego, and my family, so when the players say the other team wanted it more than is sad because everything i said prior should be enough to beat ur grandma at backgammon, let alon a division 1 college football game as a member of the mecca of college football.

Maybe i am watching a different team because they seem to really love Weis. Not that BS Tebow is my son like Urban does but a real relationship

I dont know how many times i have said this to you but firing Weis without a real plan will leave us worse off. There is more to this type of decision

Brian Kelly or maybe Bob Stoops but I would consider that kind of a stretch. Besides those two I don't see anyone who stands out, but I would bet money that Kelly would come.

So should all these other schools fire their coach also: (they are 6-3 at best also)

A. not the standard and national attention of Notre Dame
B. coaches that have proved that they are winners and that this is just a down year, not a trend.

I agree that a Weis's status should wait till after the season to see how the team responds. Unfortunately some people are too irrational to understand that, but at this point Swarbick should be calling people and lining up potential candidates if Weis does get fired. Wecan not afford to make a bad hire right now with so much talent on the team. Wealso cant sit and wait while our recruits are taken away because we dont have a coach

Like your positive post Mick and everyone should be lining up behind you wanting the same thing. If CW wins out then he stays for sure and I think all the players do as well. The NAvy game was a fluke and we will be looking to take it out on someone. Not sure what to think if CW loses another game though. Even if he does win out if the D doesn't really show improvement I would like to see a change at DC. What do you think? Keep the positive attitude we need it.

Losing to Navy 2 out of 3 years is not a fluke. Especially at home.

Oklahoma and Georgia have had great seasons, those particular coaches have earned the right to have a rough year.

man i hope you are wrong. I think the administration will give charlie and his prized recruiting class the jimmy/tate class the full shot at this thing.

I think we are on pretty solid ground and have shown much progress since the 2007 debacle, this all depends of course on how we end the season. But i truly believe charlie will be back in 2010.

heck after this saturday all these weis threads will be on page 2 or 3 of the board.

Tate's not even ranked in the top 5 for JUNIOR wrs. Not saying that he shouldn't be, because honestly I would take him mid to late first round if my team needed a wr but the "experts" still don't think that highly of him.

Funny how these same defensive players suck all year and now against Navy some of them start blaming coaches. Tackle and loooook for the ball when in coverage. BRIAN SMITH where have you gone?

What kills me about all of this is the turmoil th CW subject brings to this program. If he goes or stays isn't up to us and all this back and forth just takes away from the best part of the year, I wait all summer going nuts just to watch The Irish play. I think everyone is too consumed and at each other's throats about this. After all we all want the same thing in the end.
