I guess being ranked #36 is an improvement from last season being ranked in the 70's or 80's at this point.

I find it hard to believe I'm actually talking about Notre Dame football with that comment.

What exactly is there for us at the end of the season?

We have a 50/50 chance of winning our next 3 games, and even if we did you still have to worry about our Bowl matchup.

A SEC school would shred our slow defense.

In what scenario do you have us playing an SEC school? And being in the top 25 at the end of the year is a big accomplishment figuring we havent done that since 2006.

never. but it is rightfully so. until we show we can beat teams we are supposed to consistently and beat someone we are supposed to lose to, we will hang right around in the 30s.

Christ... this is not the Holtz Era. When Lou left, the program went into a bit of recession. I'm 24. I don't have the great days from the past to remember. But what I do know, after playing college football and now coaching high school kids, that Weis is rebuilding. If we keep turning back the clock every five years, this cycle of mediocracy is going to continue. Weis finally righted the ship. His teams have improved. I'm sticking with this guy because his ND teams have done nothing to improve. He has developed his players, running an effective O, and making this team a unit.

Fine. Hit reset. Let's just start again. Let's see how much love the next guy will get when he hasn't won 10 games or a BCS Championship in 5 years.

After 5 years we are losing to Navy and Syracuse at home and have not had a significant win. I don't see how that is righting the ship?? Yes we have some great players, but even shitty teams can get great players. You should be getting some great players at ND.....It almost recruits itself.

No one is happy about it, and very few(including me) are satisfied with it. What people are saying is that the sky is not falling. Is that so hard to understand?

This is not the pro's. Players dont stick around for 10 years. Its almost time to rebuild again. I think Clausen is gone. The only reason Weis looks like he's improving is because our schedule has gotten softer and teams have been rebuilding(ex:USC). If not for Jimmys late 4thQ comebacks we are a 4-5 win team again this year, how is that improvement? Jimmy will go in the top 5 picks in the draft and he is the only reason we have 6 wins, not Weis. How many times do we have to lose before people realize this? How many years should Weis get before he is fired? 10? 20?

How many coaching changes do we need before people realize that without aplan in place for succession we will be back here arguing over the same shit in 5 years

Interesting how the Head Coach is only responsible for the development of players, when people think that said players are NOT developing.

Why don't you ask Clausen who is responsible for his development as a QB? He and Brady Quinn both have constantly credited Weis with developing them into elite College quarterbacks.

Once again, the man gets 4 million dollars to coach a game. If you guys are content with his progress thus far, more power to ya. But at that kind of jack, I expect better results and I dont think I'm alone. We'll see how they address it after the season.
