I don't have a parking pass, so what's available and any recommendations on best choices? Coming in from the south on US-31.

If I could get you there - even though I have a pass for a few games - Joyce (given to me - USC and Conn - cause it willbe cold): I like this spot almost better.

Go toward South Bend on 933 (Highway that goes between ND and St. Joe) - past St. Joe - toward town - go the bridge and that's Howard (light just before you go onto bridge). Turn left. Go up the hill to St. Louis. Turn left. About 1/3 block you'll see the kid - - $10 - HUGE yard - sometimes I get there late - no problem. His dad will direct you to a spot. You'll never get blocked in. The old guy watches cars and is there when you get back. It's closer that St. Joe. And when you leave - you aren't in the middle of traffic. I used to park in that neighborhood by hunting for a spot (free) - but, when I was nolonger single - she said fuck that cheap-ass pay the $10!!!!!!!

All other places are $20.... or more. Golf course is $40.

I don't think you should trust people giving spaces at their yards. This year the police are supposedly cracking down on these people and fining them for not having permits. Yeah it's retarded.

Go to the white lot. There are pretty big tailgates once you get up to where the shuttles are that take you to the campus. I'm going in the white lot tomorrow

I lived on Howard for a year - 2 blocks away. Been parking in that lot for 5 years. The old guy now sees me coming and gives me my spot near the sidewalk so I can always get out even easier than it normally is. This guy parks 50 cars - he not gonna fuck upon his permit (which was only required this year). There's a park (kiddy) another block further away ($20) and it's owned and run by the parks department. This old man sits in the lot all afternoon during the game - safer than the street and I did that for 3 years. $10 can't beat it - it's South Bend near campus - not the Orange Bowl. This lot has a group of about 10 cars called the Sluggo Group - they grill and are there every single game it's their tail-gate. For the 1st 2 years - the boy asked me when I arrived: You with the Sluggo Group? I'd park my 80 year old mother there with her old lady friends. Do what you want - but I tell all my friends who I wouldn't want to have pissed at me there.

You can go one block closer on St. Louis and park in the church lot for $20 concrete.

White Lot sucks - After the game I walk unimpeded to that lot - drive south to Jefferson and I'm in Elkhart 35 minutes after the game ends. No traffic that way. I could be at the Mishawaka toll road exit in 18 minutes. Lived in Granger for 24 years and I'm an alumn. I can get you to Niles - along the river in 19 minutes.

And the new area with band and kid's activities is on your way to the game-South of DeBartolo.

All i am saying is that if u are not from the area those 2 spots are the easiest yeah traffic sucks but if u have a garwin or tomtom u should be able to find your way out pretty easy. Jef not saying your way is wrong by any means. actually i might try to find that spot when i go to the UConn game

Vinnmac:

Give it a shot. For $10 - can't go wrong - it's only about 6 blocks from Irish on the Green - which is that new food court with live music area (They had all living ND Heismans on stage for Nevada game - and Rice/Zorich/Rocket) in the grounds tothe south of DeBartolo. Also, after the game, your stroll toyour car takes you through the "party" or original tail gate lots south of the stadium. If you are from out of town and want toget a new shirt - the Green south of DeBartolo has a tented shop - so you can spend what you have left without carrying with you all day. A block further and you anget a Chipolte for the ride home or to take home for the BC/ESPN night game. By the time Conn is here due to cold - tickets are available everywhere - and parking can be had at he new garage at Eddy street commons ($40). I use a pass for that game - because I'm usually freezing by the time I leave - and traffic is less inconvenient than burning toes.

It's all good.
