Is this one of those "Navy" situations where we should be happy to hold them to 300 yards passing?

6-6 will get him fired. Hell I bet 7-5 or maybe even 8-4. No way in hell we lose to Michigan. Because if we do we won't beat them for a very very long time.

what do you mean we wont beat them for a very very long time? based on what???

The FatMan isnt going anywhere, get used to it.

38-17, 31-10 or maybe even 34-17....that is what I would like to see from Notre Dame against Nevada. Try not to get caught up in "they have to win by X amount of points...." you will be headed for a fall.

my thought is
Notre Dame should beat Nevada handily; at the end of the game, there should be a noticable difference to EVERYONE watching, that one team is clearly better than the other. Quantifying the win, by attaching a point spread, is only going to get you disappointed. Even with a good win.

Another thing to expect about the Nevada game if it goes as planned. Expect the media to say things such as, "it was nevada...", or "they were supposed to win...", or "no big deal, they havent shown me anything.." expect those comments all SEASON long. Also know that as long as you hear those comments, ND will still be rolling. Those comments will not stop all year, expect it.

Notre Dame will not get an ounce of respect till a BCS win over a good team.

I agree with you about not getting caught up in the points issue. However, if we handle them and there is the "noticable difference to everyone watching" that should, I repeat SHOULD, translate into a fairly sizable margin of victory. If it doesn't and we win by 7 or 10 points, everyone on these boards and everywhere else in the country is going to say, "with that experience on offense and Clausen as a starter for a third year, with those receivers, blah, blah, blah..." I agree a "W" is a "W". However, by that logic, there should be people that felt good about the SDSU game last year.

You and I are on the same page with the exception of the issue of the importance of the score. Despite the fact that it is the first game and all that, I think it is vital to the mindset of the team as well as the perception of the rest of the country that we obliterate Nevada. I also think a huge win sets us up better going in to Ann Arbor the next week. Having our second game be on the road in such a big venue against a rival, it is important to build that confidence. But, like I said before, it is just my opinion.

Call it a hunch. The longer you give DickRod to insert his tendrils into a program the better its going to be. Was Pat White a freak? Whos to say. We'll find out if his system is actually worth a damn in a couple years. If he is still there.

This a huge game for them this year, I guess us too.. But if they lose to ND, OSU is a write off and my bet is they lose to MSU. 0-3 against the 3-headed rivalry monster.
