Interesting... I am going to bite my lip on this one, let some of the other guys bring the humor. Maybe he'll do well. Speed isn't too shabby and he doesn't have to throw the ball... (so much for biting my lip.)

Should have stayed at ND and moved to WR.

I feel bad for the kid. He's a great athlete but just can't find himself in the right spot or situation.

With that being said, I wish Cincinatti's Spring Game (and not Bama's) was on ESPN so I could watch Jones try to tackle someone

I really don't feel bad for him. He got caught with weed in his car while at ND, the very next team meeting after he was named starting QB he was way late to, and at the first sign of adversity he transferred (in not exactly the most dignified way). He's obviously not that good of a QB, because on a team that lost almost every single QB last year due to injury, he still is buried on the depth chart. ND got hammered in the press after he transferred (shocker!), and he didn't do anything to quell the criticism. Now he's at Cinci where he'll be a backup linebacker. I wish him well, but I don't feel sorry for him. You reap what you sew...

I wish him the best, I was very excited when he was here, and I was sad when he left. To me he will always just be someone who was confused and I can only hope he is making the best decision for himself.

Definitely not a kid who ended up resembling what we hope ND athletes are, but he does have amazing athleticism and I wish him the best at Cincinnati. Brian Kelly seems to be pretty good at spotting talent where others don't see it, so all the best. But man I am glad Clausen is our qb and not him.

Hey it wasn't any easier when it was in my own head. That's why I didn't want to even utter those vile, disgusting words. Just the thought of it will haunt me for a very long time. There isn't enough weed and Guinness in the world to make that image go away any time soon.

Oh friggen lol...

Steve, I'm usually not a tattle type, but TMQ10 said "Something." Ban him. I think he's a witch.

NDinLA, I did not know he was caught with pot. Hey! That rhymed!" You are a scary wealth of info.

Maybe that is a downfall that can cause your coach to quickly lose confidence in you, but I do think he is a great athlete at wrong place wrong time, and CW did not know his head from his ass when he pulled him in the first half of the first game while QB tried to scamper behind a nonexistant line.

I think he will be a pretty good lb. A great athlete can and has played multiple positions. Maybe fans who have never played are the ones who want to lock an athlete into a certain position.

I thought CW gave up on him way too early, on a National stage. I didn't blame him for leaving. He saw the writing but still had the desire. I didn't know about the weed thing though - not that I care. Name me a single human who has not taken either an aspirin, a beer, or some other item considered a "drug."

GoIrish!!! , did you "bring yourself" yet? I like to bring myself.

Well-I wish him all the best. The "he got caught with pot" thing is a joke though-those who live in glass houses and all.

He's a young guy-good luck!

Agree and disagree. I agree, i wish him all the best. But on the weed thing, I was the one who mentioned it and I disagree with it being a joke. He got caught with a roach in his car, which is his bad. He fucked up, and he has to deal with the consequences, which includes people bringing it up when talking about his time at ND.

See, it's not a joke. He got a free education from one of the top universities in the nation, and in that contract is the responsibility to represent himself and the university in a dignified manner. Whether you agree with it or not, weed is still an illegal drug, and he was caught with it. I'm not throwing stones here, I'm speaking facts. I played collegiate athletics, and I knew not to touch the stuff. My fiance played soccer at ND, and she knew not to be near that stuff. Jones apparently didn't get the memo. He got caught, and like I said, that type of stuff stays with you.

I don't hate him for it at all. He made a mistake, and he's forgiven in my book. But when it comes to talking about his overall time at ND, the raoch incident, along with his being waaaay late for an important team meeting right after he was named starting QB, along with the piss-poor way he handled his transfer (and the way ESPN ran with that story and the two of them made ND look horrible to the untrained eye), makes me not think fondly of his time at ND. That's all.

Smoke the hell out of that sh** if that's what you're into, but can wait until you're done with athletics?

I do wish him well though...

I never knew about the roach thing. Being way late to a team meeting is absolutely careless.

I just can't see him being a 6-3 200lb LB. Or whatever his actual size is. He just doesn't look like a LB.

He will probably bulk up, but I could see him at TB or FB. He is a striker. Put a hurt on someone. I played on a 52 defense and we had a "monster" back. Kind of a roaming mouth smasher. But I digress.

Yeah, it was a roach and he said it didn't belong to him. It could be either a worng place wrong time sort of thing, or it could be he was doing it too and he just didn't get caught with it. The point is, you don't hang out with dudes who are smoking weed in the car with you if you have so much riding on the line. And when you do, there are consequences, whether or not you think they are fair or if weed should be lagalized...

The ironic thing is that if he would have stayed at ND a little longer he probably would be our starting qb right now.
