#2 Notre Dame 4 - #15 Ohio State 3 OT

Irish trailed for much of the game... until they netted the game tying goal with less than a second to play in the third period. The Irish were aided by an Ohio State game misconduct penalty with 2:11 to play. at :49 into OT Irish net the game winner. both of which came on the 5:00 game misconduct power play....

What an unbelievable finish!! As the seconds were winding down, the buckeye faithful was counting it down with the clock. As time ran out Value City Arena erupted with what appeared to be an OSU upset. However, the majority of the crowd did not notice the lamp was on and Irish players were celebrating. WOW!!!! I went nuts. My girlfriend is an ohio state student. She still wont look at me. How Sweet it is!!!!!

Great to see someone talking about Irish hockey. We don't get much coverage of any college hockey here on the west coast. Thanks for the update. What was the OSU game misconduct for?

The penalty was called for slashing. It appeared that the two had a bit of an exchange and the OSU skater got the last hack in when he hit one of our defensemen below the belt. That was probably one of the worst penalties i have ever witnessed. Given the situation, OSU is up a goal in a game that is critical for them to hold on and win. OSU, after sundays game, has dates with Miami, Michigan State, and Michigan. Every point for them is vital. To give one of the top offensive clubs in the CCHA a power play in the final minutes of a contest is a big time bonehead play.

Condra scored twice and Riderwall had the game winner and an assist on the first goal.
Jordan Pearce played a nice game. Notre Dame looked lethargic throughout most of the contest. As Ohio State squandered many golden scoring chances in the second period, you almost got the feeling it was going to bite them in the rear end at some point.

I will also be at Sundays contest. Hopefully get some pictures or at least a better game recap...

i was at the game as well. Wow, what a finish. I don't get into hockey very much but that was the best hockey game i ever witnessed and I actually enjoy watching college more than professional.

I had a front row view of the goal as the clock expired. i went crazy and the rest of the crowd had no idea what was happening.

funny tidbit...the commentator on the jumbotron between periods would add some color at times. He reiterated the fact that OSU beat Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl and I looked at my girlfriend like..."that was 3 years ago, and we're talking about a totally unrelated sport?" OSU gets off on shit like that. But I was happy when they showed the kiss cam and a notre dame fan did the gator chomp. the crowd boo'd and i laughed.

Great night in hockey. Always like seeing the Irish win. I think I am going to the frozen four in DC this year so I am praying the Irish make it there. I try to catch them whenever they are on tv, which is rare. I didnt see it last night because I was at the Pens vs Blue Jackets game, which my pens won.

Rough night for the city of Columbus.
