NDinLA, you do like to hear yourself "type" and appear to have quite a following. Good for you. The facts are the facts and CW did get Te'o, and that was quite a catch. ND ended up with 17 recruits, which was the 2nd fewest in the top 25. And the did end up 24th overall. Also these finished 8th or 9th in the average ranking of their recruits and all by one of these schools recruited more players, between 7 and 10 more. No one denies that there are quality players in this year's class, but we are talking about ND, and why we recruit 10 fewer than Alabama and 7 fewer than LSU concerns me. It appears that you aren't considering that the top 10 recruiting schools yesterday make up most of the final top 10 teams at the end of the year. ND finished 47th.
NDinLA, I hope you are right and ND kicks ass next year and goes all the way. I would like nothing better. You are right, CW's first two years were impressive, on the surface. First, the real stars were Ty's recruits. Second, ND got their asses kicked, and shouldn't have been in a BCS bowl. Finally, beating Hawaii this year to end the longest bowl loosing streak in NCAA history is a relief, but no great shakes. It appears you have set the bar for what you would consider a great ND football program fairly low. Last time I checked, teams didn't win trophies for recruiting the top player in Hawaii.
When I left my first message, I wanted to have some fun and to engage in some discussions about ND. (By the way, I have been a fan since the late 50's and have always followed them as closely as possible.) I didn't know there were rules as to what one could, and could not discuss. I certainly didn't intend to offend anyone, nor did I expect to have my intelligence insulted. No problem. After reading a number of the posts, it's easy to consider the source and laugh it off.
I must say however, it made me wonder why you appear to be so loyal to an arrogant blowhard like Charlie Weis, who has demonstrated that he can't teach, motivate, or coach; then I read you last post directed at me. Two birds of a feather.
You and your band of idiot fans have a good evening.
