It's a travesty that a player like Rickey Henderson wasnt unamimously voting into the hall. No matter how you felt about the cat, this due is the most prolific base stealer, runs scored, leadoff Homeruns and unintentional walks getting and this how they vote. . These Halls of Shames are a joke.

Agree.

I don't watch baseball (I'd rather play or coach...) but when a name becomes a household word...

I read an article that a guy that didn't vote for him made a mistake and said he should've voted for him.

Anyway...I don't really think it's a travesty that he wasn't unanimously voted in. It'd be a travesty if he wasn't voted in at all. Not getting unanimously voted in is kind of just a little thing to me. They weren't gonna build him his own wing of the hall of fame. I'm sure Rickey doesn't mind. lol

Unfortunately, there are discrepancies in the system when you have some many voters. The older voters (besides being forgetful, which comes with age) still hold on to the believe that no one should go into the Hall unanimously; while some of the younger members never saw some of the older players during their playing days. All ballots should be make public and the BWA should take the voting right of members away who cannot justify their selections such as Jay Bell getting two votes and someone voting for Matt Williams (mentioned in the Mitchell Report) and not Ricky Henderson!!!

Rickey was a physical specimen. I sort of wonder about lots of those guys from the steroid era. Especially the A's. But it was part of the game and it may suprise many folks who was using them. I have always heard Henderson was a work out nut and never used any alcohol or tobacco. So he may be clean. He sure did get big pretty quick though. I am an Oakland A's fan and agree that Henderson was possibly the greatest leadoff hitter of all time. He sure was fun to watch.

I would love to see Big Mac get into the HOF. Fuck... I loved McGwire. Now I just pray that Griffey goes in as a Red.
