Notre Dame Basketball

Okay. I'm gonna give my input on Notre Dame basketball after what I have seen the past 2 games. This is the second game in a row where we just got blown the fuck out. My personal opinion is that we are severely overrated. We are too one dimensional. We rely on the 3 ball way too much and we have no defense what so ever. Harangody just got abused today. He shot at least 4 airballs. Without him we wouldnt even compete.

With the remaining schedual left (Which I will break down) It's gonna be a long tough road to make the tourney. I'm not saying that we wont BUT its gonna be tough especially after the loss today which puts us at 8th in the Big East.

Next game
#4 Uconn (This is a home game and I know about the streak but this is where it ends) Loss
#14 Marquette (One of if not the hottest team in the country) Loss
@#1 Pitt (Best team in the country if you ask me) Loss
@Cincy (After a streak of 5 straight losses we win) Win
@#6 Ucla (Never do good out there or against them) Loss
#19 Louisville (The streak starts all over again hopefully) Toss up but I say Loss
Usf Win but closer than people think.
@West Virginia Toss up but I say Win
@Providence Toss up but I say Loss
Rutgers Win
@#4 Uconn Loss
#22 Villanova (Another hot team that is underrated if you ask me) Loss
St. Johns (Last home game of year) Win

With that being said the Irish finish with a 17-13 record MAYBE 18-14 or 19-13 with a 9th or 10th place finish in the Big East. The Irish will get a NIT bid and maybe a NCAA tourney bid if they upset a few ranked teams. Thats just the way I see it. They are not geared towards hanging with the big boys. Too one dimensional with no defense. I cant see it any way else.

If you think this is an NIT team than I want some of the crack you are smoking. And how can you say we got blown the fuck out at Louisville. The game went to OVERTIME for Christs sake we just ran out of gas. We are every bit as good as they are.

UCLA - W (We won out there last time we played with much less talent, and they are Howland's worst team in 5 years, no Kevin Love, no post play, Luke has a field day)

Most teams only rotate 7 guys, maybe 8. They just need to find a way to get Luke a rest. Alot of teams have guards play 40 minutes.

Without Luke in there though we dont have anyone. Zeller? please. He gets shoved around like a twig. Thats our biggest problem right there. Nobody to replace Luke when he gets tired.

How though? I cant figure it out. Nash is the 2nd biggest body wise I believe. We need at least one more good big guy. Thats why I'm so concerned about a good run in the Tourney.

All they need to do is squeeze 5 or 6 minutes out of someone. The difference between Luke playing 34 minutes and 39 minutes is huge. I dont know what the answer is. Maybe Nash, Zeller actually plays pretty good post defense, he just has no offensive game down low. I dont know what the answer is.

Louisville just beat Pitt. The same team that we played tooth and nail for 40 minutes beat the number one team in the country by 6. That is just the way it is for the Big East this year. We have to keep our heads up, anyone can beat anyone on any given night.
