It can't be good for college football (or the rose bowl committee for that matter) to have usc just destroy every team they play in the rose bowl, right? it might as well just be renamed the southern cal touchdown extravaganza.

i mean it was over in the first quarter you gotta imagine the ratings probably took a serious hit.

i still have no idea why the ncaa hasnt checked them out, oh wait yeah i do the S#^tload of money usc makes them.

They are good. DBs that are 6'3 and 230 and run like the wind and hit like mack trucks. That #2 is one vicious MFer. He is dangerous. It will be real hard to recruit some of those guys. You have to cheat a little to get a few of them I am sure. Wonder what he gets paid?

It still boggles my mind how PSU through over the middle with 40 seconds left and inside the 15 yard line.

They are in Rose Bowl because for the last two years they have had a brain cramp during the season and lost to a inferior team(Stanford...OSU). If they had won those they'd be in the NC game 3 years in a row.

thats the funny thing about it, everyone says how great they are year after year yet they dont win year after year. they have such over the top talent yet they cant win all their games. they almost didnt even make it to the rose bowl this year.

but carroll is the best thing since sliced bread?

i was watching the game and i found it very hard to believe that they have that many guys that look like body builders, those guys are a few on each team, yet they have 10 of them. just seemed odd to me and makes me wonder what is going on over there on the west coast.

btw that kid who is just an absolute monster and quick as hell is actually a bit of a bitch when it comes to tackling. definitely could be a better tackler for his size.

even brent musberger annoyed me listening to him in that game this year, he is usually a great commentator but he was all over their jock on saturday, to the point it annoyed me.

When you are 89-5 over a 7 year period, then you are the best thing since sliced bread.

No doubt they are solid. (Maybe money without conscience allows? - Don't ban me LMI...:))

College football is a big thing.

It's pretty much all about the money. If it weren't about the money then the NCAA would really crack down on grad rates for these schools. Pre-season rankings are about the money. Televising high school games is about the money. And so on. You have to wonder how much a blowout actually hurts ratings anyway. People will still tune in next year, advertisers will still line up, and Pasadena will still be sold out. I'm not sure exactly how you match it up any better than that in regards to teams. Blowouts happen. The Rose Bowl and the Rose Parade are major league deals. A friend of mine went to SC and does work with the Rose Parade. That time commitment is all year long on a weekly basis, or so it seemed. And it's volunteer. If you are ever in LA during the week after the game, go check out those floats. It's really nice. I wouldn't recommend the parade, but that's because after 4 years of living through Mardi Gras I am done with crowds. But going to see the floats is sweet.

I agree that is impressive, but the point is also valid that they lose sometimes when they shouldn't. That is alot coaching and not preparing the boys. Think about it like this, at least once a year SC just doesn't show up, sometimes it costs them a title, and sometimes they squeeze through. We just gotta hope next year they don't show up for us, and then we can hand them thier ass and take that title from thier hands.

Dayum, I didn't realize they were that good.

well, when you have low standards for athletes, great weather year round, and an alumni base that will pay anything to see a successful football program....of course you will land the best prospects across the nation.

carroll is a cheat and i wish that reggie bush scandal would've panned out so:

1. usc was stripped of a national title
2. bush would've been stripped of the heisman.
